First West Coast Cruise-documents arrived

Just to let you know that you can leave your car at the port in LA. I have done it last year. The price is $11 per day. The security is tight, so I didn't have any fears leaving it there.

I hope this helps anyone!!!

MJ, my dad is almost in a panic at that large wave that hit the ship. He said, he wasn't all that excited to be out in the ocean before, but it is worse now, of course he has parkinsons disease, so he is just getting old, and a little scared in his old age. But my mom just can't wait... It ought to be fun, but interesting...... As far as the green mickey heads go, we have a home depot about 35 miles away, if I can't get there I will email you and ask you to get them, Thanks so much
now, HOW do I get the link or what do I do to find the rest of the cruisers??

AnnaS - We are on the same cruise as you. Our travel agent said parking at the port is about $11/day. There are some hotels close by that you can stay at the night before you leave, and then be able to leave your car at the hotel lot for cheaper than the port parking. I'll try to get more info.

Moley, we were told that adults did not need passports, just a driver's license and a certified copy of your birth certificate. Does anyone know if having a passport will make things go more smoothly? It is easy enough to get one if need be.

minniemoms: The cruise meet is under the Cruise Meets forum and look for May 28, 2005 Mexican Riviera.

There has been some discussion already on this board on how convenient a passport is going out of the West Coast port. You do not have to have it. Identification of an original birth certificate and driver's license is okay, however, passports will get you into a line which will go much faster. If you have time to get one and can spare the additional expense, it is recommended for your own convenience.

I do not know this first hand, but experienced cruise travelers from that port have said the lines for the birth certificate holders go much slower than those for the passport holders. I think that is probably why Disney used the wording they did to urge people to get one for their documentation.
