I went to Disneyland for the first time in January of this year and purchased an annual pass and I have had sooo much stress trying to plan a second trip before my pass expires (January 4th).
I know with the 60th making things uncertain, questions are kind of hard to answer going off of previous experiences/history but basically I'm just looking for reassurance that's it's possible to have a great trip in the busy December... ;_;

I know there's the holidays decorations and candlelight that bring crowds and of course Xmas and I've kind of come to accept no matter when I go it'll be busy... But I think the hours are extended so I feel like early mornings and late nights plus extra parades (does that happen early December?) will make the crowds seem more pleasant.

I would really like to go for my birthday which is the 13th, and stay for around a week and a half or so (9ish days) so my second question when do you suggest I go? Beginning of the month towards my bday or bday towards week of xmas?

Basically H E L P !

You might want to include the first weekend of December to experience the Candlelight Processional; your long trip allows you to devote some time waiting for a decent view.

What kind of pass did you get? I'm asking because most have blockout dates around Christmas. We have been in early December before and found the crowds to be more than manageable.

A couple of years ago I went the first week in December, right after Thanksgiving (we got there the Monday after Thanksgiving). It was fabulous-- the crowds were actually quite low, but all the decor was up and the entertainment was all running. The closer you get to Christmas, the busier it will get.

Yay thanks Wahlee thats reassuring I think if I go it'll probably be the 5th through the 14th...

I don't see staying anywhere past the 15th.

I went that first full week in December last year and it was great! Week days were much less crowded than the weekend, of course, and the weather was nice too. If I were gong in December again, that's when I would go. :)

I went the 3rd to the 10th in 2013 and aside from being FREEZING cold the entire week it was very enjoyable. Lines were manageble - but again the temps (one day's high was 35) probably kept the locals home.
