We were in Orlando this past December 16th - 23rd and had a great time. We did Disney since we hadn't been there in several years. My daughter (19) really prefers Universal though (DH and I love both of them) and wants to go back to US/IOA.

We're off two weeks for Christmas, but the way the dates fall this time our last day of school will be Dec. 21st. Christmas week is too crowded for our taste, but I was wondering how Dec. 29th - Jan.5th might be? I know that it will be crowded for NYE, but what about the other days? Any ideas?

Thanks!

Been to US/IOA that same week the last two years. This year was much more crowded than last year. No where as crowded as WDW parks, but more than the year before.

ps We are also out that week again next year.

Just to be clear, by "that week", do you mean the first week of January? Thanks!

Yes, first week of January.

This year we were there Dec 30 - Jan 7th.
This year we did Universal Parks Jan 2, 3 and 4th.

Last year Jan 2nd - Jan 8th.

Busy time, lots of schools are out that week and large numbers of guests from UK, Euro and SA as they are on holiday well into January. But the Universal parks were much less crowded than WDW.

Hmmm, DH hates crowds.

We'll get a condo, so we wouldn't have the onsite FOTL. DD's BF goes with us, so we need more room. We generally get a 2BR, and he takes the couch.

I know you can buy the other pass, but since you only get once per ride, I kind of hate to pay for it. We've used it in June, but they let us use it over and over (didn't punch it) except for one of the days.

I guess we'll have to discuss this some more.

Thanks for the response!

Get a tour. You'll see the rides, a show and whatever else the guide can get you to in five hours or more depending on what tour you choose. As for lines, there are none on tour.

Phone number 407-363-8295.

Thanks for the idea, but since we've been so many times before, that probably wouldn't be our best option. Some of the rides we like to ride over and over (I think we did MIB 13 times in a row the last time we were there ;) ).

We may wind up going then and just making sure we're there first thing every morning. Since I'm planning on getting the $85 tickets, they'll be good for multi-days, and that may take care of the crowds. We did that one time in March or April with a FlexTicket, and it worked out great. The crowds really didn't get there until around 11 a.m., and we were already at the back of the park by then. It seemed to get really crowded around 12:30 or 1, so we would leave then and go to Wet'N'Wild.

Thanks anyway!
