First week of August crowds

We chose to go in to Disneyland on Wednesday, Aug 5th. We only get 1 day in the park. I thought that Wednesday would be the best day, as it is a non-early entrance day, and it is mid-week. However, in looking at crowd calendars, it shows Wednesday being a 9, and the flanking days are only a 7. We can be flexible, so how accurate are these estimates? Is it worth changing our plans?

And for us personally, would our maximum number of rides etc be hindered enough by the rest of the people who have the early hour entrance to make it still better for us to go Wed?

Thanks...
who knew picking dates would be so challenging! :)

In other words, are the crowd predictors accurate? I know being summer to just plan for lots of crowds, but a 7 sounds more pleasant that a 9. :)

There are several different crowd calendars, which one are you specifically asking about?

I've seen that one mentioned before, but it's not mentioned all that often. There is also IsItPacked.com and Touring Plans (paid) that get mentioned fairly often. In general, any of the crowd predictors have to be taken with a grain of salt. I don't know why August 5 (Wed) would be noticeably busier than August 4th or 6th of that week.

In my experience they are not entirely accurate. I think that Wednesday is a good day to go, not any worse than a Tuesday or a Thursday would be, so I would not worry about your choice.

We'll be in the parks that week also, planning to go Mon, Tues, Thur and perhaps Fri afternoon to close the park down that night. I am a bit worried about crowds but I guess I'm just bracing myself for the worst so hopefully I'll be pleasantly surprised if it is not indeed a madhouse.

Touring plans shows high crowds that day, too, and I was wondering about it myself.

I keep wondering if maybe there is an event that I don't know about? So odd.

I don't think I'm concerned enough to change travel plans. No matter which day we go, I know 2 things.
1. It will be crowded.
2. We will have an absolutely wonderful time.

Go and have a great time. Most days are crowded at Disneyland but it won't be super crowded. Those predictors are pretty much worthless.
