I am considering a trip the first week in August. My family is going down Aug 4-11 so I made reservations thinking I would cancel. Well, now I am considering going because I can't wait until December.
I was hoping to get some feedback from DVC people that go at that time.
How hot is it? I know it's hot, but too hot to hang out at the pool?
What is the best resort at that time, especially if I do not plan on doing too many days at the park? Right now I am booked at VWL for 3 night and BWV for 2. Does VWL have a slide? It seems a little more wooded over there so I thought it might seem cooler...is that true?
Are the water parks completely out of control at this time of year?

Get there before it opens and enjoy the various flumes. By mid to late morning the lines for each flume is very long. However, the wave pool (I've only been to BB) is very large and there is room to wade at all times.

We always go the parks in the morning and hit the pool in the afternoon. We like the scary clown pool at the BWV.
It's a nice way to spend the afternoon.
