If I had to choose(and I do) which park would be more suited to a family with a 10 & 15 year old, both of them LOVE coasters? We've never been to Universal so I have no idea which park is best suited for us. Thanks!!:D :)

If I were you, with kids that age that love coasters, I'd definitely go for IOA. The theming at that park is wonderful with some really good thrill rides. The water rides are usually pretty popular with kids that age as well! :)

If you have any specific questions about either park, feel free to fire them away, that's what we're here for! :)

Thanks. Does anyone have any touring tips for IOA. We'll be there the week between Christmas and NY.

IOA all the way...

There are no coasters in Universal Studios Florida, unless you count Woody Woodpeckers in the Kidzone. But I don't count that, since that is a smaller, non thrill type coaster.

If your kids love coasters, and fit the height requirements, then Dueling Dragons, and Hulk would be great for them.

It is a 54 inch requirement. My son was 52 inches, and could not do them.

As for touring plan, the Marvel Super Hero Island seems to be the best place to start. Do Spiderman first, then do it again. Get an Express pass for later, and then hit hulk. DO that again as well. Then if you want do Storm Force, its right there. Or you can go back to it later.

While you are waiting for your re ride time for Spiderman, you can do a few things.

One would be to hit a water ride at Toon Lagoon. Or if you don't want to get wet yet., hit this ride.

The Pterdeon (spelling) flyer. It does get high waits, and does not have Express. My kids loved it, it well, made me a little nervous with my daughter... That is in the Jurassic Park area. You can also do the River Adventure, (if there is time before your reride time expires).

Go back and reride Spiderman. Then you can hit Dr. Doom, and Storm Force then, if you didn't hit it before.

After your reride time, hit Toon Lagoon if you havent hit it yet. Popeye is fun, and Dudley do right is really really fun.

It may be time for a break now. Basically you are about half way done. CHeck your show times map for start times for Posiedons Fury, catch that. But don't wait in the line, get an express pass if you aren't onsite. Also check show times for Sinbad show if you are up for that as well.

You are in the Dueling Dragons area now. Also the tamer Flying Unicorn is there as well, it is a zippy little thing, even for a baby coaster.

Now you may hit Suess Land, even if the kids are older. They MAY like it! Cat in the Hat is a fun silly ride, and they may like the tame Carosuesel.

One Fish Two Fish is sort of like a Dumbo ride, but if they don't want to do it, you're not missing much!

Congratualations, you are now just about done.

We did this on our vacation, but this was in August. We got there opening time (very very important) and did this exact plan, and was done around 2 -3 pm.

As for the time you are going it may need to be adjusted. Don't forget to use your express passes, or room keys if you have them.

This worked for our family of four in August.

Thanks Cindy
Is the express pass like fast pass at WDW? are there machines near the rides?

Yes there are., and yes they are near the attraction.

You scan your ticket, and the nice thing is that you get to pick your time, they have two displayed, and you pick the one you want...
