Since we visited Discovery Cove earlier in the week, our passes entitled us to admission into Seaworld. We thought that we could use a break so we decided to head on over to Seaworld. DH complained about paying $7 to park. The place was really busy. Lot's of cars arriving at the same time and trying to find parking at the same time. We made note of where we parked in the lot and made our way to the entrance. We really didn't know what we wanted to do or what we SHOULD do other than the Shamu show. First exhibit I think was the polar bears. This was pretty interesting, but honestly, I don't like zoos or places like them where the animals are in cages.
So why was I at Seaworld, right. Well DS loves animals, in or out of cages, so we went. The Shamu show was very entertaining and packed. We didn't sit in the "splash zone", but as soon as DS found out what was happening in that area, he went down to find a seat. Unfortunately, he sat in the very middle of the stadium (if that is what it is called) and all the splashing was taking place on each end of the stadium. Anyway, he had fun hoping he would get drenched! Went to most of the other exhibits, including the shark encounter. Fed the stingrays. Had lunch at the Anheiser Busch (sp?) cafe and it was just o.k. We really didn't know where to go and this was the first place we saw that served food. DH said, is this o.k.? I said, how would I know, but if it has food, it guess it will do. Well, DS had a pretzel, DH had some sort of sandwich and I had a turkey sandwich, all costing aboaut $30.00 I think. A little over priced for the quality of the food. To top it off, we had to sit outside because all of the inside tables were being saved for some sort of Seaworld Day Care that was eating at the same time. It was over 90 degrees and this didn't make us to happy. DH got a free sample
and we made our way outside.
Went to see the Seymour show and it was already packed, so since it was so hot, we really didn't want to sit in the sunny seats so we moved on. DS wanted to ride that log flume ride, but FOTL has spoiled us! There was a 45 minute wait. We said NO WAY. So, we made our way to the pengiun area. It was very comfortable in that exhibit so we lingered there.
All in all, our visit to Seaworld was o.k. I am glad we hadn't paid extra to go there, but it made for a good diversion for the day.
Back in the room, DS decided that he wanted to ride the Popeye Bilge water ride so we put on our bathing suits and headed over to IOA. I reminded all that we needed to be back fairly soon to get ready for our dinner ressies at Margaritaville. They said "No Problem". Well, we ended up doing Spiderman also and just walking around. Didn't even get on the Popeye ride. Reminded the guys that it ws now past time for our dinner and that we were in our bathing suits. DH said no problem, let's go anyway. I insisted that I be able to buy something to cover up in (a sneaky shopping trip!!) Went into Fresh Produce at City Walk and bought a really nice top. Made our way to Margaritaville, and voila, they had our ressie. DH got a sandwich, I got soup and a salad and DS got the peanut butter sandwich. Nothing adventurous, I am afraid. Walked around a little more and decided we were pooped. Went back to the hotel and stayed by the pool for quite some time.
LAST DAY
Began with breakfast buffet at the hotel. It was really good.
Since it was our last day, we went to both parks. Universal first for a final two visits to Jimmy Neutron, one visit to Jaws (piece of cake now), several visits to MIB and a visit to BTTF. I don't know how we did it, but we had completely missed Terminator in our previous visits. Well, we loved it and were sorry that we had missed it previously. Found the ice cream place across the street and enjoyed cups and cones. Watched the Blues Brothers again (just love those guys). DH got lunch on the go. Did some shopping for the folks back home. Had our picture taken with Sponge Bob and made our way over to IOA.
DH did hulk again. DS promised himself he would ride today, but guess what, he didn't. He resigned himself to the fact that maybe he would have to wait a couple of years. I think there is a plan there somewhere . . . that we have to come back soon so thast he can ride the Hulk! Of course, we hit Spiderman for the last time and make our way to the water rides. They do the Ripsaw Falls again. This time, because it is so hot, there were more people to ride, so I had to wait quite a while for them. Went on to the Popeye river ride and loved it again. Didn't get as wet this time as before, there are definately good seats and bad seats (I think) on those rafts. Meandered around and made our way back to the hotel. Went to the pool. I just can remember where we ate that night! Old age setting in!
We got up early the next morning and prepared for our long ride back to Virginia. Ate breakfast again at the hotel, checked out via the television (no extra charges had been added I am glad to say) and we were on our way!
Thanks again to everyone for the info provided on this board. It definately made for a more informed/beneficial trip. Oh, I did make use of my Universal Fanclub Card, thanks Tinkerbarb. I also used my AAA card on numerous occasions. Both of which I wouldn't have thought of had I not read it on this board. Everyone here is super!
