First Unread Post often skips many unread posts

If I haven't been on a thread in a day or two, and use the little down arrow icon to view the first post in a thread I haven't read, it will often go to a post from the current day, even though there might be 3 or more pages previous to that post I hadn't read yet.

This has been an issue as long as I remember.

I have this problem too, so I've turned to using the Advanced Search on each thread and searching for my name, so I find my last post. However, often times that doesn't work properly either - it takes me to my SECOND to last post. I read a lot of Trip Reports that get very long, it's not fun to page through 10+ pages looking for your last post!
