My family and I are planning a trip to Orlando first two weeks of July. What is weather like then? How are the crowds?

Peak (or close to it) summer crowds, weather hot and getting hotter.

This is when we usually go. EMH mornings are a must for us!

Hot (with occasional to many lengthy rain showers depending on that year's weather pattern)

Hot??? It doesn't get hot in Florida, medium at the most. If you want hot go to Las Vegas in the summer where it is 25 degrees hotter than Florida.

We were there last year at that time. Weather and crowds weren't awful. The 4th was crazy though. But,I would do it again in a heartbeat given the chance

Plenty warm, plenty of showers, and when I was there in July- plenty of tour groups. Plan on giving yourself some breaks during and enjoy!

True, not the hottest anywhere in the country. We did 4th of July in 2012 and were quite relieved to escape the (unusually warm) 100+ degree temps of the Midwest when it was low to mid 90's in Fla. but a bunch of trip reports (from Northeasteners?) still talked about how hot Florida was.

We went last year at that time and while it was hot and crowded, we had a complete blast. We did rope drop with afternoon breaks each day and returned about 6pm and stayed until after park closing. It cooled off much more than I expected each evening. We only had one evening that was a complete washout but I consider that lucky. I scheduled all of our FP+ for the evenings and we were okay with not seeing everything.

We loved it so much we are going back this year for the week of July 5-12. This is the only good time for my DD15's school schedule and having July 3rd off work gives us an extra day to prepare and travel.

Enjoy your trip!

Very very very hot and humid almost unbearable. Will be sweating a lot. Take frequent breaks and go swimming at your hotel. Go to the parks in morning and evening and leave mid day to afternoon and back to the resort. Take cold water bottles and the frogg togg towels for everyone.

Melting hot and dripping humidity - and very, very crowded. Once was enough for us and I'm a deep south person, but I sure don't stay out in the heat for several days in a row.

Oh, really?? Have you compared the humidity levels?? NO comparison!!
Yes, I have lived both places. Humidity is not the subject to which I am talking about. I am merely talking about temperature. I will take 85 degrees at 95% humidity over 110 degrees and 4% humidity any day. You don't cook a turkey with high humidity.

It is when we plan our summer vacation as it has to time with kids being off school.

It can be hot as the sun on certain days but we find that with rope drop and an afternoon break we manage fine.
We prefer to avoid the park with extra mornings and use 4th July as a water park day or Sales shopping :)

And I am the opposite. Except for where my hair is concerned. I have a lot of it, and it LOVES the Southern humidity. The rest of me, however, prefers to be in the desert with low humidity. It's a lot easier for my body to deal with.

I would say that most people would agree that 90 - 95* temp. with 85-95% humidity (which is more like July in FL) is by far the worst of the two if they've experienced both. Humidity makes the heat 'much' harder to take. You can't separate the two when you are outside. It doesn't just 'cook' you, it smothers you! You can't stay out in the sun with either for long.

Where do you come up with "most people"? Do you realize Florida just pulled into third place in the US with 20 million residents? Meanwhile Arizona with it's low humidity is 15th with only 6 million residents. I don't have any problem at all with the humidity in the summer time here.

That's wonderful for you. But to tell people it's not hot in Florida in July is misleading at least.
