We are leaving in 5 days for our very first trip to the Fort. We checked the pop up today and are trying to start packing. We are not planning to do any cooking so all that stuff is staying home. Extra tarps are a given in this lovely weather pattern. What else should we not forget.

Rain gear. We went to the dollar store and bought .50 ponchos. They are folded small enough to fit in a pocket.

Beer, wine, liquor... oh and definitely remember the BEER!!!! :cool1:

Enjoy your trip!

Extra long freshwater hose in case the site you have has the power hookup at the back of the site. We have been in this situation in our popup (loop 1400). We had to back waaay into the site so we could plug in the power and then the freshwater hose wasn't long enough to reach. Luckily, a nice family at a neighboring site had a longer hose we could borrow.

Or an extra long power cord. If you have 30 Amp, you can get a 25 foot 30 Amp extension cord for about $40 at Wal-Mart.

This infor is great. Do I need to pack a 10x10?

We are taking ours. This time of year we will probably attach the screen walls as well. The mosquitos are usually not too bad, but with all the standing water I expect them to be worse.

I highly recommend taking bikes for looping, going to the pool, and riding over to WL. I don't know your kids ages, but my DD5 loves the pony rides ($5 when we were there in March).

I had to beg DH but he finally gave in to packing the bikes.

sunscreen and sunburn spray (in case you make a mistake which is easy to do in a climate we aren't familar with), tylenol and bug spray.

pillows! comfy pillows for a comfy bed. love to sleep in my camper!! will you have cable? don't forget the small tv and cable (we always used a really long one in our pup). i need the tv to go to sleep in my comfy bed!

A coffe pot - could not find coffee at the FT before 7:30am UGH
Bug Spray- I have been camping for several years and have never seen tham that big.
Ear Pulgs - the @#$% :scared1: Frogs were so bad that even the noise from my A/C did not dround them out.
