We have two days on a trip to WDW with our 3.5 year old and our 6 month old. Would you recommend two days at the Magic Kingdom or one day at MK and one day at Animal Kingdom? My son is 39 inches so is not tall enough for the Thunder Mountain Rlrd or Splash Mountain but is tall enough for the river rapids ride at AK. We are indecisive about whether or not to spend both days at MK or since he can ride the river rapids ride, hit animal kingdom one day. We are probably not going to buy the park hopper.

Also, we have no idea whether or not to bring or rent a stroller. I heard the disney strollers are just hard plastic so would not be comfortable for our 6 month old. Is that the case?

Thanks for any advice!

You are going to love it. We take our little ones all the time. My 2 yr old is making her third trip.

MK all the way. Even with older children we usually spend just 1/2 day at AK. make sure you have park hopper tickets and the second day I would suggest going to AK until after lunch and then back to MK. Plus MK usually stays open later than AK.

The strollers are indeed plastic and might not be condusive to a six month old. I think you could put a carrier in the double stroller and strap it in so it wouldn't come out. It is really easy to rent them as opposed to bringing your own, especially if you are going to travel in the buses/monorail very much.

How much fun for you! We took our DKs when they were 2, 3 and 4. People said we were nuts but we had a great time and so did they! I would do what you want. Your 3 year old will love whatever you do. There are plenty of rides that all of you can go on at the MK and really that park is so geared for little ones (and yes, big ones!). It is also hard to see everything in a day. If it were me, I'd probably wait, and go just to MK this time, and put off AK for next. We brought a stroller for our youngest and rented a double for our others. I would definitely rent one for your 3 year old at the park, if you didn't plan on bringing one. I am sure others will give you advice on strollers for infants. Oh, and if you or DH wants to try a few of the big rides, you can get a switch pass, which allows each parent to go on a ride (alone or with their kids) while the other waits. After the first ride, you switch and don't have to wait in line. We used this tons!
Have a blast!

Do you have to get a special pass for this? I just thought you could wait in line for the ride then let the CM's know you are doing the baby swap thing? What's the best way to do it?

We leave in 4 days!! :Pinkbounc

No special pass. They usually gave us a ticket like a fast pass type, and then we handed it to our other family member, or friend, who was waiting. The CMs will tell you what to do. Our older DKs rode splash, thunder and lots others back to back with no wait. It is super. Don't forget to get your fast passes too. OOOh, have fun!

To the OP, one reason we brought a stroller for our youngest is that it was easiest to get from buses, monorails and around our resort- all that walking a lugging is exhausting for them as well as the adults. The park strollers have to stay at the entrance. Do you have a stroller that has the standing platform on the back? That would be awesome for you 3 year old

For that age I would do one at MGM and one at MK. My kids loved those 2 parks at those ages.
