The QII lays on free shuttle buses to the Universal Parks and we are last pick up. No seats on the bus, but at least there are no more stops.
We arrive at about 8:30am and the turnstiles opened at exactly 9am.
We head straight for Shrek 4D which is hilarious (apart from the spiders round the feet!!!!!!).
Then onto Twister, which was ok, but felt the build up was too much, and the actual tornado too short!!
Then round to The Mummy and we notice that we have already reached the far end of the park according to the map!! We are so relieved it is not the size of Epcot!!!
We had real problems using the computerised lockers next to The Mummy!! "Put your finger on the scanner" / "take your finger off the scanner" / "put the same finger on the scanner"!!!!!!!
Couldnt work it out at all!!!!!! So me and Heather waited while Mat and Anthony rode it. They love it, but say its NOT a ride for Heather. There are no queues so I go in with Anthony. This has to be one of my faves!!!!!! BRILLIANT!!!!!!
The Terminator ride is the best 3D attraction I have been to so far. Anthony is 11, and a huge Terminator fan, and he still believes the "real" Arnie was on stage!! I still cant believe just how fantastic this show is!!!
This day at Universal was far more leisurely, and we knew we were coming back for a second day, so we made sure we took our time (as opposed to Epcot!!!).
Heather and I ride Men In Black while Mat and Anthony do Terminator. I had read in Simon's book about pushing the red button when you see the big bug and it worked!! Came out with a score of about 150,000 when everyone else had about 15,000!! Cant wait to ride it with Mat and Anthony and keep the red button a secret!!!!!!!!!!
Watched Animal Planet which was fun and the kids enjoyed it.
The Earthquake ride is very clever!!
The park closed at about 5pm which was probably just as well for us as we are beginning to feel shattered!!
We had managed to do everything except ET and Back To The Future, which will have to wait till the second day.
Back to the QII by about 6pm, which is lovely. A nice swim in the pool before chilling out!!
