Hello all,

My mom and I are doing a very quick trip to Orlando in early spring. The main purpose is because her and my daughter are Harry Potter fans and she wants to see it. I was looking at the events and noticed we will be going when they are doing their Mardi Gras days. Is the mardi Gras event only in the french quarter and where is the parade held? Also if we are just doing one day is the meal card worth doing? and how does that work? Is it like the dinning plan at Disney? thank everyone

Mardi Gras is held in the Studios...not IOA. The parade and concerts are mainly on Saturday nights but the parade is any night there is a concert. The concerts are Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights and are included in the park admission. The parade is held throughout the park and once it's finished, the concert will begin.

If you are wanting to see WWoHP, you probably won't be affected by the crowds but CityWalk will be jammed! Unless you go to the Studios, you will miss all of Mardi Gras.

The meal deal is not a great deal. You get to eat all day but you can't share the meal deal and it's only honored at two restaurants in each park. I would skip it.

We are doing both parks so I was thinking about doing Harry potter first thing in the morning and then heading over about 3 or 4 pm and sticking around for mardi gras and whatever else thanks for the info about the meal card too

Yes...that sounds like the best plan. The concerts will be very crowded depending on who is performing that night and getting into the park early is key. Keep in mind that once the park closes, so do the rides. Mardi Gras is about the parade and concerts and I'm sure your family will have a great time. Your daughter will love trying to catch beads during the parade.
