first trip to universal - need restaurant help

Hello -

We will be going to Universal for the first time on 2-2-09 and spending 8 days at the Hard Rock Hotel. We have taken 3 trips to Disneyworld with the last two on the dining plan. I am not even sure where to start with this trip.

Can we walk to other Orlando restaurants from the hotel? Such as Golden Corral etc? What restaurants are good, but reasonable at Universal, IOA and hard rock?

What other things can be done close to Hard Rock without a car?

There are several restuarants not far from Universal...mainly fast food but there are some you can get to via a short cab ride. On Kirkman Road: IHOP, McDonald's, KFC, Outback Steakhouse, Hooters, Orlando Ale House...just off of Kirkman is Carabba's. If you like bbq, take a cab to Bubba Lou's...it's in the Kirkman Oaks Shopping Center at the corner of Kirkman and Conroy. It's delicious!

Inside the parks...I would recommend Thunder Falls Terrace and Mythos at IOA and Louie's at the Studios. For Citywalk...I would suggest Hard Rock Cafe and Margaritaville.

Most of our "must do list" have been covered already-Mythos, Finnegans, Margarittaville

I also highly suggest NBA city (city walk), Islands Dining Room and Tchoup Chop (both at RPR)
