We are taking our first trip to the Fort from Massachusetts on 06/15/08 :cool1:. This will also be our kids (age 7, 5 and 5) first trip to WDW and our longest trip yet in our TT. Planning on leaving the driveway at 8pm on 06/13 and driving until about 5 or 6pm on 06/14. Then finishing the trip on the morning of 06/15. Any suggestions on where to spend the night?

We are all looking forward to experiencing the Fort for the first time. We have requested loop 100 and have ADR for Hoop D Doo one night and Chef Mickey another night. Other then that a lot of the meals will be in the TT or Trails End. Thanks for any suggestions or words of wisdom that you experienced FW experts can give.

My only words of advise are....

Can you say...."Best Vacation, Ever"???

Once you've stayed at FtW, you will be hooked forever!!! I think it's something they pump into the air, or put in the water, or perhaps there are subliminal messages infiltrating your brain and brainwashing you. But, when your vacation is over & you're back at home, beware.... because you will immediately start planning your next vacation at FtW!!!

Welcome, and have a great trip. You won't be disappointed.

It looks to be about a 22 to 23 hour trip. I think somewhere in Va or NC may be a good place to stop. That is info is from one of my coworker who is from Boston. We live 30 miles from the SC Ga state line off of I95 and it takes us about 5 1/2 hours to FW. I hope that will give you an Idea of driving time.

Have a great time. I'm sure you really like the Fort.

We'll see you there!:goodvibes We're checking in on 6/14. This is only our 2nd trip to FW, but we loved it so much that we have 4 more booked in the next year!:cool1: We live 19-22 hours away, and we like to stay at the KOA in Florence, right off I95.

Thanks for the responses. I would love to make it to GA on the first long travel day and only have a "short" trip to FW from there on Sunday. Hopefully we can pull it off.

This will be our first trip as well to the Fort. We have only camped once that was last year. We are tent campers for now. We will be arriving on the 19th-22nd of June. Maybe we will see you there!!! We have a 4 year old & a 2 year old.

Have fun Will be a great trip. I guess I dont need to point out your leaving on Friday the 13....

As for stoping on the way. I am a Rest stop camper. My TC has a generator and All we need is some sleep.

I realized about three days ago that it would be Fri the 13th. When I leave there will only be about 4 hrs left to that day so hopefully I'll be all set. I would do the rest stop thing too if it weren't for the kids. I'm looking for a campground so the kids can burn off some energy.

I am so excited for ya'll! That forst trip is so special. I think for a nice easy in, easy out campground on the way, you can't beat KOA. many of their places are right on the interstate highways. Koa.com is a great site, you can plan your trip there and see what campgrounds are available along your route. I strongly suggest you only consider those that are within a mile or 2 from the main highway, you don't have much time to waste riding around, possibly getting lost like I did one night on my first trip, boy that was stressfull. You can also order the KOA campground directory, its very handy for finding a conveniant campground where ever you are.
