Hi All, We are new DVC members having just purchased AKV. We are planning a trip Feb 11-15 09 to SSR to use our developer pts. My questions are:

Can I purchase our park tickets when we place our ressie? :confused3 :confused3
We are planning to do the Disney meal plan, do we purchase it at time of ressie also?:confused3

Really excited about our first trip as DVC members. Planning on a family trip in the fall.

TIA,

Bob and Nancy Ryan:cool1:

No. MS does not handle tickets. You may purchase them at the resort when you check in or in advance from anywhere you choose.

You'll need to ask MS to add the Dining Plan to your reservation. You pay for it in full at check in. The Dining Plan needs to be on your reservation at least 48 hours in advance, but ask MS to add it as soon as you know you want it.

Enjoy the trip!

I'm excited for you!! How long did it take for all the paperwork from start to finish (hope you don't mind me asking)? I was all ready to give the go ahead with the DVC sales lady to start the paperwork and give her the down payment when my car needed repairs and is taking almost all the money for my down payment so now I have to wait til mid October :sad1:

I am anxious to use our developer points as a surprise vacation for my kids. I hope you have a fantastic time and it will be great knowing you have a family vacation to look forward to when you return!

I just came home from my first stay at SSR as a DVC member and it was awesome! If you are planning on getting an annual/premium annual pass, you can order it through MS then get the ticket exchanged when you arrive.
The DDP has to be booked at least 48 hours prior to your arrival and then paid for when you arrive.
I have to say after many trips as a non-DVC member in the standard resorts and then going home to SSR...what a difference! I honestly felt like I was at a vacation home and not in the craziness that we've all come to know and love. Hope you have a great time!

This is not true. I would not say that it is necessarily the best way to go (a ticket broker or directly from Disney online may be a better value or more convenient), but it is definitely possible to buy tickets from DVC Member Services. You may also buy annual passes from DVC Member Services. If you buy tickets from DVC Member Services you can have them added to your room keys through the resort concierge upon arrival. Again, there are other ways, but it can be done through DVC Member Services.

I just booked not too long ago for a January trip thru MS and they wouldn't let me book the dining plan yet. They said to check back after August!!
Just an FYI.
Happy planning
