First Trip to DL - solo (COMPLETE) new link p.43

Totally unrelated to this TR but I still want to share some exciting planning news.

For my December trip to my brand new purchase at the VGF :hyper:

Yesterday I booked us a sleigh ride at Fort Wilderness and dinner at Artist Pointe for our last evening. I had waited a long time to book and nothing was showing up online but I figured I'd call to see if any times were available for either one. Both were available which was perfect, and at perfect times too. We'll do the sleigh ride at 6:00 and dinner at 8:00. The sleigh ride is only 25 minutes so we'll have an hour to check out the camp grounds' Christmas decorations before heading over for dinner.

For the Mother's Day cruise:

My 7 month window just recently opened for pre and post cruise and I was able to book BCV for both portions which was exactly the plan. Since mom won't be joining me on many trips anymore I told her she could choose where we stay and she chose BCV for both. It will be the last two weekends for the F & G Festival which we both really enjoy. And of course we'll thoroughly enjoy SAB. I booked a studio for one night pre cruise and a 1BR for two nights post cruise.

It's so exciting when plans start coming together. :dance3:

YAY!!! Love your plans. I'm seriously jealous.

Did I miss something? Did you buy into VGF???

Wow, you really got a lot done. How lucky that all the rides were walk ons. I don't think I ever have done the castle walk through, but they have something similar at Disneyland Paris and I have done it there.

Its semi old news :) I bought a small contract of 50 points while they were doing a pre sale in June. It's not much but I just had to have some, mom and I have wanted to stay there FOREVER and now it's possible. There's always the 7 month window, but I really really really wanted to own some.

You guys are the only ones who get it when it comes to planning. :goodvibes

I couldn't believe my luck with the walk ons, it was perfect! Just one ride after another. I liked the castle walk through, it was pretty dark and creepy at times but still neat.

I love the castle walk through. It is my favorite. Riding the Fantasyland rides with no wait is always awesome. Personally, I hate standing in line for "kiddie" rides even though I love riding them. I do not like lines for the headliners either, but I find them more tolerable. Glad you made it back to Peter Pan and were on and off Pooh within 5 minutes. Fantastic evening.

Oh my gosh the details of FantasyLand in DL are second to none. I am starstruck! Dumbfounded, enchanted to name but a few emotions. Well done with the walk on rides you scored. I am going to have to go over the trip report again to do it justice there is so much that I want to read again! And again...

Thanks for the pictures.

Congrats on the dinner and sleigh ride how cute I have never heard of this. What does it involve do tell! Sounds amazing.

How nice re your Mum's mother day cruise!

We saw GF when we went. I would be super excited about staying there also. The details in the room! Beautiful! You would def want to have points there to get 11 month window it must be so popular!

Pam we are 2 episodes into Once upon a time. I am not well today so Jo opened the dvd boxset to cheer me up. We are both now hooked! Although I am very scared of Mr Gold lol. How old am I lol. It's great! Loving it.

That's so great with all you got done in such a short amount of time. I can't believe that you made it all the way over to Winnie the Pooh before closing! I always take my time leaving the park when it is closed down. And you know that Main Street stays open for an additional hour for your shopping convenience! :lmao:

I hate waits more than 20 minutes for any ride :rotfl: I've found off season to be so fabulous for low waits, I've gotten very spoiled. With DVC I know I can always see/do something on the next trip so have gotten to skip things if the wait is too long.

I'm so sorry you're not feeling good today

I knew you'd love it! Mr. Gold is definitely scary at times, no doubt about it. But as you see more of his character and back story you will start to route for him.

I do find myself thinking of when I can get back there, I really loved DL. Im so glad you're enjoying it, thank you for the kind words :goodvibes

I had it in my mind that you and Jo had been to DL before?

Thanks for the pictures.

Thanks! :)

So the sleigh ride is at Fort Wilderness, they do them year round but the holidays make them more special IMHO. It's $64 for a 25 minute ride, which is a bit much but it's a special treat. That's for up to 4 adults or 2 adults and 3 smallish kids. I think they do it at one of the other resorts as well but I may be wrong. I'm not really sure where they'll take us, probably just on the grounds and maybe a forest path. I'm hoping around the camp sites to see some of the decorations, but if not we'll check those out after the ride. Apparently the campers really go hog wild with their decorations and is worth checking out. Totally unrelated is the dinner at Artist Pointe, I've wanted to try it for a while and since we'll be really close I thought it would be a perfect time. There's plenty of veggie options for mom too which I always have to take into consideration. I think it'll be a perfect last evening of vacation.

How nice re your Mum's mother day cruise!

That will be my big trip with mom next year, very excited about it. One night pre cruise at the BCV, 7 night Western Fantasy cruise, followed by two more nigh at the BCV. 11 days of adventure. I'm planning on booking Remy for Mother's Day which is the second night of the cruise. I'm hoping to keep that a secret until we're walking up there. :hyper:

We saw GF when we went. I would be super excited about staying there also. The details in the room! Beautiful! You would def want to have points there to get 11 month window it must be so popular!

Those rooms were so gorgeous, we were both blown away! Hopefully one of these years I can nab a 1BR, the bathroom was absolutely stunning! I tried this trip but they were already booked.

Oh my goodness, I hoofed it over it Pooh! I'm not sure what got in my mind to get over there but I just wanted to ride Pooh that evening :rotfl:

Would you believe I didn't buy a single thing on Main Street the entire trip! I need to get back there. In the back of my mind I'm thinking next December. But I'm also thinking Jambo House CL. Too many choices, too little time...

The tag fairy does not seem to like me :(

:sad1:

All you have to do is hang out on the Boo Boo Thread, Jenny got her new tags less than a week from when she posted there! :rotfl2:

This! The Boo Boo thread moves dang fast though. :hyper:

I'm scared to go anywhere near that one. That's where you all got your cows right?

:rotfl2: Do it girl. Siggies look so purdy with a little color. Trust the Tag Fairy.

And I agree with everyone that the proximity of everything in Fantasyland being so close together really adds to the magic. The Teacup lanterns at dusk are one of my favorite spots in the park. :cloud9:

Pam the sleigh round sounds lovely and how nice Remy for Mothers day! The little Meridan bar where you sit and wait to be called is really nice on The Dream I imagine the same for The Fantasy. It serves both Palo and Remy as the name suggests! We were waiting for Palo but others for Remy when we went in September.

We have been to DL but a long time ago before they built the GC park. Just had MK then. We went with my Mum and Dad on a road trip of Cali and as much as Jo and I wanted to see everything in MK Dad was flagging in the heat. We only had one day assigned so we didn't get to see much. Very frustrating! But as Arnie says ...we will be back...

Just had to look at those FL pictures again. The detail! Did you get photopass+ ? I just loved those photobooks you could buy. You pictures would look lovely in one of those :-)
