My husband, my two kids (6 and 4), and I will hopefully be going to Disney World sometime this summer. We are really wanting to stay someplace that has two bedrooms and a kitchen/kitchenette. My daughter grinds her teeth every night and it is very hard to sleep in the same room with her when she does that. We are thinking about a rental property or condo. If anyone has any tips on how to find a decent priced location, please let me know! ;) I am open to any additional tips that may help in our trip planning as well.

We have stayed at two off property resorts that we would revisit - Silver Lake Resort Silver Points and Orbit One Vacation Villas.

Silver Lake is beautiful, and right next to AK. The back gate out of SL takes you onto Sherberth Road, which leads right to the Disney roads without any of the traffic. We stayed in a one bedroom with a pull out couch, but I know they do have 2 bedrooms. I specify that we stayed in the Silver Points units because I believe there is a difference, mainly that the Points rooms were recently renovated. We loved our room, and the resort itself is beautiful and quiet. There were two pools, we used both and liked them. Many resort features were available, all we really took advantage of was the pools and the Wifi package that includes movie rentals (there was a DVD player in the bedroom, perfect for our son after a day at Disney). You can buy a week on Skyauction.com for $299, if your week is available. It may be available on other auction sites as well, but I'm not sure.

We stayed at Orbit One this past fall since SL wasn't available, and although it's a slightly older resort and not recently remodeled like SL, we liked it. We had a spacious 2 bedroom, the master had a King bed, the second room had two twins. Very clean and quiet, we enjoyed having the large screened deck to sit out at night, and we could let our son play outside on the grass and basketball court while we sat there, which was nice. We enjoyed the pool, and it was never crowded. You can book through a site like Expedia, or go on Tripadvisor.com and put in your dates, it will show you who has the lowest price. Rates are really reasonable through those sites, I believe I saw it for $69 a night the week we are going (we book through a military site and get a great rate). Orbit is just down the street from SL, you also go down Sherberth to access the Disney roads, it is very close and a short drive to all the parks.

Both are near outside restaurants and shopping that are very affordable! Target is just down the street, and Walmart is close.

Check out Windsor Hills. They have 3 bed/3 bath townhouses for $90 to $120 (or so) per night, with private 'spa.' (not really a hot tub - like a little pool). 4 to 6 bedroom single family style homes there have private pools and spas! Around $200/night. You can walk from most townhouses (and the 2 or 3 bedroom condos) to the clubhouse pool, which has fountains and a huge slide (maybe too much for your kids ages), and a hot tub, small store, etc.

I've only ever stayed onsite, but we hate being in 1 or even 2 connecting POR rooms. I love parking at the door of a townhouse.

If you look into renting there, PLEASE save yourself alot of hassle and go to their official website (and then the owners who advertise there are listed - with their own websites for more info and booking). I was almost scammed TWICE via HomeAway/VRBO rental owners who weren't. The official site is easy to find if you search the name of the complex and official.

Good luck.
