First trip staying on site! I want it special!

Sounds like a plan! You could always have some Disney-themed flowers waiting in your room when you arrive... that's a little touch she might appreciate.

I have yet to stay deluxe, so take this from someone with a wish list but not personal experience. I would keep your Savannah view then move to either boardwalk for the proximity to Epcot (especially if you have hopper tickets) or Poly because it's on the monorail and just so "Disney" to me.

You've done great with your restaurant choices definitely delicious and very well themed. Have a great trip!

I would switch to Poly or Boardwalk after :) Boardwalk is walking distance to epcot and hollywood studios even. Poly is just amazing and monorail or boat to MK. Can't beat close proximities to the parks!

I agree with previous posters that a switch to either the Boardwalk or the Poly would be fun. I prefer the Boardwalk for the convenience of walking to Epcot. Wandering over to the World Showcase in the evening ending with Illuminations and a leisurely walk back to the Boardwalk makes for a special time.

But if it is the magic of MK that would excite your GF then by all means go with the Poly.

wishing you a magical trip!

You will enjoy AK! It's fun waking up with the Savannah view, seeing what new animals are out there. We loved the night vision googles and the restaurants are top notch.

Don't discount Bay Lake Towers! It's a great place to stay. The 5 minute walk to Magic Kingdom makes it super magical. Connected to the Contemporary with Monorail access is great. Plus, it's less expensive (requires less DVC points) than other monorail resorts. It can be a great value! I would probably avoid premium views (opt for lake or standard view). I don't think it's worth it because there are many common areas to view the fireworks.

You can't go wrong with the Boardwalk or Poly. Those are both great resorts.

Either one you pick, you will appreciate being close to the parks. There are not many resorts that are either walking distance or Monorail to the parks. AKL is cool, but it's far away from the parks.

With your dining reservations, Bay Lake would be ideal. For example, it's great to have a day at MK, go back to Bay Lake Towers to refresh. Then a few minute walk to California Grill.

No need to get up super early for your Be Our Guest breakfast either. Nothing can beat the 5 minute walk to MK!

Chef Mickey's and The Wave are other good restaurants at the Contemporary.

It totally feels like Disney at Bay Lake Towers. We have stayed there 3 times and loved each visit.

Good evening everyone. I haven't been to disney world in many many years. Everytime I have went, I usually would stay off property because it is much cheaper. This time, I am taking my GF and want to really be in the Disney experience. I would like to know if everything I am doing looks good in your opinion lol

So, I am going for 5 nights in a few months.

I booked DVC Animal Kingdom Villa Jambo house, Savannah View for the first 2 nights because I saved ALOT of money. The last 3 nights are also at Jambo house, but a standard view room ( I am hoping for an upgrade, or hoping days open up for the DVC )

If it falls through on the last 3 nights with DVC, I currently can book and save money by going to boardwalk villas for the same price standard view, or POLY standard view.

For slightly more I can do theme park view at Bay lake tower, but It just doesn't feel disney at all from the pix. It seems like a really really nice hotel .. in Mexico lol, or any other destination with no theming.

I want her to have a great time, thats number 1 for me, so I am thinking of little things

I already have reserved California Grill 40 minutes before wishes. I also booked breakfast at Be our guest. Breakfast another day at BOMA, and dinner on the last night at JIKO.

Hows all that sound to you guys? lol

Thanks

That sounds amazing!!Have you stayed at AKL before? It's hands down my favorite resort! Esp with a savannah view!! For the ending of the trip I'd factor in the following:
-Are you spending a lot of time at Epcot/Dhs at that part of the trip?
-Or is it mostly around MK?
-Will you be at the hotel anytime to utilize the actual Boardwalk area? It can be super romantic around there in the evenings when everything's lit up, walk all the way around, have a drink, maybe even hit up Jellyrolls
-I personally like the themeing & feel of the Poly more than the boardwalk, both are very nice, but the Boardwalk's just a bit too fancy (but not on level with the GFlo)

Skip BLT, the theme park view would be worth it for fireworks from your balcony but thats about it, the hotel itself is very drab, it's nice enough, but got basically no disney themeing, I've never really liked it or the Contemp, and I have stayed there. Unless you want the ability to walk to MK, thats awesome

You sound like a very thoughtful and caring boyfriend! I would make a total switch for those last couple of nights to get a different experience.

I would switch, too. I love AKL, but you will be able to see it and do it all at that resort in 3 nights. BWV and Poly are both fabulous, but it's like comparing apples and oranges! Both are quite romantic, IMHO! As others have said, BWV puts you within walking distance of DHS and EP World Showcase. They have entertainment at night on the Boardwalk, games, you can rent a surrey bike. There also some GREAT restaurants in that area. IMHO, the restaurants at Swan and Dolphin blow the WDW restaurants out of the water. Poly, on the other hand, gives you that quintessential WDW experience! Tropical themed, a view of the fireworks and castle from the beach and monorail access to MK, EP and the other monorail resorts for other great restaurants. Only you will know what might appeal to the two of you more.

Oh and BTW, do you have a single brother? You sound like an AMAZING, thoughtful boyfriend. You're planning a wonderful trip - I hope your GF appreciates you!!
