We're taking our first trip to WDW since our honeymoon (yea!) in the fall and this time around we'll have our 21 month old DS.

I know that planning is going to be slightly different this time. Now I don't have honeymoon related questions - I have tons of KID questions!

So first up - my kid eats. A lot. He's a machine and he's only 15 months right now. We're doing the free dining plan. Can I purchase a kids dining plan for DS even though he is younger than 3? Or will I just have to suck it up and buy everything for him ala carte? We will try and eat at buffets, and give him food off of our plates, but like I said - he eats so much, I know I'm going to have to order extra food for him.

Thanks! And thanks in advance - I'm sure I'll be peppering this board with a ton of questions over the next couple of months!

You could buy the dining plan for the child, but that would mean listing him on the reservation as age 3, which means having to buy tickets, too.

Really, really, not worth it.

At buffets and all-you-can-eat places, he'll eat free anyway. The rest of the time, unless he's a BIG eater, kid's meals will be way too large for him (they're designed for an 8-9 year old). Better off just ordering ala carte or sharing off your own plate.
