I need soo much help preparing! I have been reading all sorts of posts on this site, and it has been SO helpful! DH, myself, DD-13 and DS-11 are making our first trip EVER to WDW. I feel panicked because I am not sure what to do next! We have a 7-day MYW base, which we had thought were Park Hoppers, until I called today to confirm reservation and everything. Can't afford to upgrade to Park Hopper at this point! We are driving from Western NY to Florida, we need that money for gas!

I asked when I called to confirm if there were any discounts or upgrades associated with our reservation #, and CM told me that all the 'deals' start the week AFTER we leave. I told her that my husband is a medical provider, and can't talk any other time off because of his patient load, so we are going when we can.

We have a preferred room at the ASM. We did not add the dining plan, and am now thinking I should have?

Are there any ideas on how we can assure that this trip is the most memorable for our kids? I never got to go as a child, so I want to make this AMAZING for the kids without breaking the bank!

Any suggestions for getting any kind of free upgrade/perks? Do they offer anything special for medical providers? What do I pack? Will it be warm enough to swim?

I'm a mess! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:scared:

Oh, hon, don't worry so much. It will be a wonderful trip.

I can't answer all of your questions, but after a quick trip to weather.com, I see that the Monday and Tuesday of your trip will be 80 and 81 degrees as a high. One thing you should know about Disney pools and water parks is that they are all heated, so swimming is a possibility on the warmer days.

I haven't heard of any discounts for medical providers, but I'm not a medical provider, and I haven't looked for those discounts either.

The dining plan, well, that shouldn't be a problem. If you don't want to spend too much money on food, you should plan on eating at the food court in your hotel. They'll have lots of different things to choose from, so there will be something for everyone, and it's not badly priced.

As far as making this trip amazing for your kids, no worries. There will be plenty to see and do, without having to break the bank. Just let Disney handle the magic.

Where in Wester NY are you from? I'm in Hamburg :goodvibes
We will also be in WDW the same week as you :cool1:

First take a deep breath..I just checked weather.com for Orlando and for Mon and Tues (26th when we arrive and the 27th) says hi of 80-81 and low of high 60's. Keep checking till you leave but know it can change...since driving come prepared for it to be cooler.

We will be there the same time as you...we drive up there in 8 days but coming from South Florida.

There are no discounts that I know of for medical providers. Just go with the flow and you will have fun. Did you make dining reservations? We did the dining plan once way to much food for us.

I went to school at UB, spent 4 years there.

Just remember to breath and no stress...you will be at Disney.
