so, planning this really big family trip, coming from arkansas, texas and hawaii. we're going jan 6-13.

wondering which is best way to go:
1. room only w/ military discount
2. room only w/ senior discount

hopefully buying tickets thru military for either of these options

3. package : seems like a lot of stuff we don't necessarily need

i can't really find much out about that early in january. it seems there are specials later, but where would someone suggest i look/start

may add character meals.

would appreciate any help.
gramzie will pay
3. package

Since you are talking about Military discount, Have you looked into staying at the Shades of Green? They have some good promotions going on for Jan, Feb.:goodvibes

There really isn't a WDW senior discount - though offsite places, airlines, and car rental places may offer them.

The military discount is good, but there are also discounts being offered to the general public in packages now.

I find that often when trying to fiure out teh best deal, I have to run the numbers, but if you can get a military discount that will likely be your best bet, particularly at Shades of Green. Particularly with the military discount on tickets.

I'm not sure what info you have on packages - some of the Disney packages are WAY overkill - but other packages also start at the pretty basic level: resort room, park tickets, and basic dining. They throw in a few coupons for free.

The dining package can simplify pricing your food costs. Though even with DDP, you still need money for restaurant tipping, if you pick the options with table service dining.
