My last trip to WDW was in 2010,so I'm wicked psyched about planning a trip for a few friends. We've been a few times, but always in the Summer. This time,we will be there in November. I'm thinking a November trip will have a very different vibe to it. Less people, cooler weather, and hopefully, the Chistmas lights will be up! Any tips, advice will be greatly appreciated!

We went in September last year and are going in October/early November this year. :) If you'll be there during early November, Food and Wine is still going on and that was one of the highlights of our trip last year! I think it went through Nov. 9th in 2014. Also, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas party starts which we're hoping to do.

thanks for the info!

We went on our first Nov. trip in 2013. We were there around the 2nd week of Nov. Our normal time of going is May and June. I loved going in Nov.. I was pleasantly surprised on the low crowd level compared to May and June. The Christmas decorations were up in MK and we went to the MVMCP. I hope to go back again in Nov. but this year its going to be early May. I can't wait!:cheer2:

I have been going the week after Thanksgiving pretty consistently since 2000 and it has gotten progressively busy. People realize that it is a good week to go.

While there is less people than T-giving week, it is not what it used to be.

We're planning 11/12 thru 11/19,so we will just miss the Food and Wine!

We usually go in the fall. Really love the F&W but osborne lights should be operating and the parks decorated for Xmas the week you are there. Great week for minimal crowds though park hours can be a little shorter. We have always had good weather and even have been able to do a water park.

Thanks everyone. I think we're alll really going to like November. My head is spinning right now. I have the dates we're going now I need to make my room reservations. I'm thinking of buying an annual pass and wonder if I can reserve 3 rooms with my pass and (hopefully)apply a nice discount. Is that possible?

I went last November, from the 12th through the 19th, and I was disappointed that there were not more Christmas decorations up! Last time I did a November trip around the same time frame everything was decorated.

There were still some up -- Magic Kingdom is all decorated because of the parties, and the big tree at EPCOT was up. The Osborne Lights were going (DO NOT MISS THEM IF YOU GO IN NOVEMBER!).

However, none of the resorts were decorated yet, which was a disappointment to me. Only the gingerbread house at the Grand Floridian was up, but it wasn't officially open yet. The trees at AK and HS were not up yet either, though they were getting ready when we left.

That being said, the crowd levels were great. F&W at EPCOT was over, so those crowds were gone. Universal was practically empty, couldn't believe it, we got off Gringot's and got right back on!

We went in early December in 2013, and I think I did prefer that, but only because all of the decorations were up. The Christmas show at EPCOT had started by then too, which was great. Am debating when to go if I go again this year.

We'received heading down for our 1st November trip also. We'll be there from Nov 14-21. Any idea when the deluxe resorts will be decorated? We typically go in December and love to have pictures taken in front of GF's tree.

You won't be missing Food & Wine! The dates for this year just got released. It is running from Sept 25 through Nov 16th! So you will be able to catch it during most of your dates! :thumbsup2

I just love November in WDW. I won't go any other month. I am going Nov 5-14 this year and I cannot wait! The weather is always great.. We only had rain one night when we went this past Nov and it was on our last night. The xmas party is my favorite thing to do! There is nothing more magical than MK with all of the xmas stuff up.

Just the info I was looking for to decide which week to go! Thanks!

AWESOME news!! Thanks Tinkerbella, for posting this!!!

When are the resort decorations usually up? We are also looking at mid Nov. but want to catch all the Christmas magic.

This is always hard to answer because the resorts don't all decorate at the same time. When we went Nov 12-18th, the only resort I remember even starting the xmas decor was Grand Floridian- the gingerbread house was being put up and was completed by the end of our stay. Our resort (POFQ) was not decorated yet. We went to Beach Club for dinner one night and I don't remember seeing anything up. So this varies by resorts. The closer to December you get, the more you'll see. :santa:
