First Trip Getting to Hotel from airport

We are going to DL 4/27/09 to 5/1/09 and flying into Long Beach Airport.
This will be are first trip to Disneyland. We have been to Disney World around 40 times,and are DVC members. We will be staying at the Grand Californian Hotel. Need help getting to hotel from airport, what is the best way? I have been listening to the podcast on Disneyland it was very helpful. I feel like a rookie going to Disneyland after going to Disney World so many times. Any suggestions or advice would be helpful. Thanks.

Congrats on your first trip to Disneyland. Our family has gone to Disneyland as you have to DW. We have found a Limo company the past couple of times that has come to Long Beach for the same price as the super shuttle. He has driven us to the Disneyland Hotel each time. If you are looking for a fun way to travel with perfect service then I would call Harold. Hi! We just got back from staying at the GCH and we took the Disneyland Express (big greyhound bus). They stop at Disneyland Hotel first and GCH second.

Sadly, the Disneyland Express doesn't go to/from Long Beach (only LAX and Orange County airport).

OP, transportation is what has stopped me from using LGB...but Super Shuttle does go there, and there are cabs and rental cars.

My family used Harold (Thanks for the recommendation Amy!) when we flew into LongBeach in February. His rate was great, and he was super nice. His car was immaculate too, and we enjoyed his candy bar and soda and water.

Joe, welcome to the left coast DIS!

You can take a taxi from LGB for around $45 flat rate, but you're not guaranteed the flat rate on the return trip. Super Shuttle costs something like $35 for the first person and $9 for each additional adult in the party. If you can get Harold for the same price, I'd do that.

As far as being a DL rookie, we have a great sticky thread at the top of this forum, "Hydroguy's Tips Compilation" http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1520483 He has several threads just for WDW vets who are doing DL for the first time; you'll find lots of great info on there!
