Hi Everyone!

I have been to WDW many times on my own as an adult. This trip my husband and i are taking our 2 boys for their first trip! We have a 2 , almost 3 year old and a 1.5 year old. Our flight gets in later in the evening due to work commitments, and we only have 3.5 days on site. We have free dining for the adults and will pay out of pocket for the boys to split a meal when needed.

Right now I have 'Ohana booked for 7:35am and BOG booked for 8:55am for our first day. Our first day is MK, which breakfast should I keep? I'd love to do 'Ohana for the characters but i am afraid it might be difficult to do with our incoming flight, we do have chef mickeys breakfast booked during the trip.

Any advice on what would be best with 2 little guys?

I love both restaurants but it depends on where you are staying. If you aren't staying near the Polynesian it can be hard to get there for 7:30 am.

I'm going to suggest grabbing something for breakfast at your resort when you get in the night before and eating in your room.

To get to that 7:35 means you'll need to be waking up around 6:00 a.m. and that's if you intend to take an uber or cab to breakfast. If you're going to use Disney transportation, you need to be out at the buses by 6:30 to be sure you can get to The Poly (unless you're staying at The Poly which makes all this mute).

As to the 8:55 at BoG, if it's a 9:00 opening day, you can actually get into MK and allowed over to BoG around 8:00. So, if you can do that (again, that's an early wake-up call, depending on where you're staying and how you're transporting), then I might do that breakfast. But if you're getting there at 8:55, then you're missing that golden first hour of touring and by the time you finish breakfast, you're looking at longer lines.

In all honesty, you're boys aren't going to know one way or another. If you're wanting characters, you could try to get a mid-morning Ohana or Crystal Palace around 10:30-45 which would allow that early morning touring.

If you're using uber or a cab, you can leave around 7am from your resort...which means you should be fine waking up around 630am. Although it depends on how slow your family is in the morning. :) But yes, you definitely need to leave around 630am if youre using disney transportation.

If youre already doing chef mickeys, i would do as @sharonabe says and schedule a late breakfast at Crystal Palace or BOG. That way you can tour the park while its empty...then as it starts to get full, you can break for a brunch (late breakfast) around 10:30-10:45am. I would opt for those two because they're inside MK where you'll be. Its so much easier instead of going to the Poly.

Thank you everyone, We we planning on using the minnie van service if we go to the 'Ohana breakfast, we are staying at Pop and the travel would be too much that early on Disney transport. We are early risers, both boys are used to being up by 5:30 -6:00 am. I did consider crystal palace but my boys do not know the characters. Right now I am leaning towards canceling breakfast and just going with the flow, we do have a 5pm dinner at Whispering Canyon Cafe planned already.

A go-with-the-flow breakfast option could be to get waffles at Sleep Hollow.

For your first day, I would grab something quick to have in your room or something at your resort. We have 3 kids and we tend to do less and less sit down breakfasts each trip. It takes a lot of time off the clock, it's usually a travel hassle and we like to seize the day by getting to the parks and hitting the rides while the kids are fresh and ready to go. We save the sit down meals for lunch and dinner when we need to unwind a bit and take a break.

I like Crystal Palace for a day one breakfast. You have some time to show them the Winnie the Pooh animated movie, after all, and Tiggers are wonderful things. :tigger:

Those are the only characters my 3 year old GS isn't shy around each trip! I think they are a great way to start! A quick snack before you leave the room then a mid morning brunch! And it's a awesome photo op!

The annoying thing about Crystal Palace breakfast now is that since they are letting all guests into the hub before park opening, having a PPO breakfast Palace now puts you at the very back of the rope drop line. If I were you I would do a character meal for lunch instead. With little ones that age we found they were tired and crabby at morning character meal ADRs, but excited and happy by lunchtime. Plus, it gets you out of the heat instead of wasting the good morning weather that could be spent in the parks.
