Thanks. I wanted to cut out the letter P-O-L-Y to put on the front, but my letter punches were too small and since I didn't stitch it, I had to use pinking shears and there was no way I was going to cut out letters with those things

I like just how you did it!

So just a little update. I lost alot of weight last year and this summer I struggled to fit into the clothes I had. I didn't want to wear baggy shorts or capris in all my PP pics, so yesterday I left work early and went summer clothes shopping. Let me tell you, that is not easy in Maine in Jan. So I ended up at Goodwill. I figured that I am not done losing the weight, so I don't want to spend alot on stuff I will wear this one trip. Well, I scored big! I got 4 capris and 3 shorts all for $22! I love them. I got mostly jean capris since this is what I live in. But I found some really nice Talbots shorts that I love. Can't believe they were only $2.50! I've never been a big Goodwill girl, I just hate sifting through all the isles. I like a store to be orderly and easy to spot stuff. I hate Marshalls and TJMaxx too because of that. But I must say...pretty happy with my stuff. Can't wait to pack them

So what is this Mickey Mail I have been hearing so much about on the Feb thread? Is that only if you booked a package? I got my ME stuff, but nothing else.

And according to TikimanPages.com they are starting the Poly pool work soon, but only the slide will be closed and even that not all the time. So I'm very glad I stuck with my dream resort. I'll get to the other ones soon enough Already trying to talk DH into a 2013 trip since we won't be able to do much for our 10th anniversary in Sept this year due to our splurging on the Poly. Maybe POFQ or AoA next year?? It will be harder since DS will be in school next year, but really, how much can you miss in Kindergarten?

I am glad you decided to stay at the Poly. It's my all time dream resort!

Looking forward to my Mickey Mail too... I wish we got those awesome vouchers like Liddy got though...

I guess so. I am assuming that I didn't get it because I am doing room-only. I won't have it paid off until we get there to check in. We bought our own park tickets from our AAA office and went through Disney for the room. I don't know. I will just print off my confirmation and take it with me when I go. Or, I still have 22 days....maybe I will still get the MM.

Hmm... well, honestly, I don't know what they do for room only reservations. But if you were to get one, it would be around 14 days out from arrival day. I would still think they would mail you a confirmation a week or so out.

Do you have Mousekeeping everyday, or do you put the "Do Not Disturb" sign out and only have them come in a couple times? Getting ready to fill those Mousekeeping envelopes and I didn't know if I should do every day or every other day.

This snow and freezing rain we are having is making me want to leave NOW!

Typically, we take Mousekeeping "most" days. But that's for the chance (and sometimes very slim) of getting a towel animal. In a standard hotel, unless we needed towels, we don't take "keeping".

We will probably take Mousekeeping most days on our trip, we'll probably have one or two days that we put the DND sign up.

But that's just us ... Like I said, in a normal hotel, we don't take it at all.

Final decisions meaning? Am I still staying at the Poly? Most certainly I am. I heard they might close the slide, but not for long and not the pool. Since I doubt my little guy will go down the slide without me, I think we are safe to stay there. As long as he can splash around in the shallow end we will be fine. I KNOW! 15 DAYS!

Rides: I am very excited to try Splash Mnt. They were just building it when I went last time. And of course my favorite is Space Mnt. I'm excited for all of Animal Kingdom since that wasn't even there 20 years ago. And just the general feeling of the magic all around.

Shows: I don't think we will try too many shows. DH isn't a show person and I don't think a 5 yr old will like many of them either. I am hoping to catch Nemo and Lion King. Maybe Little Mermaid, but our HS day is up in the air due to LegoLand. So if we don't make it, thats fine. There's always next time.

ADRs are posted somewhere back there. I don't have many because I just don't want to be tied down with times and long sit down meals. Plus, we are paying OOP for meals, so I wanted to do mostly counter service.
Kona planned for Sunday night after AK.
Garden Grill on Tuesday for EPCOT day.
Whispering Canyon for Wednesday as our resort hopping/DTD day.
Kona for breakfast Thursday before LegoLand
Kona for breakfast Friday before MK
Chef Mickeys for breakfast Sat before flying home (but thinking I might cancel this and just go to the Contempo Cafe to get the same atmosphere for much cheaper).

The quick serve places I am looking forward to are:
Captain Cooks of course. I can't wait to try a few of their sandwiches. The aloha pork and the adult grilled cheese looks really really yummy. And their flatbreads look good too.
At MK I am looking forward to Pecos Bills, Caseys, Columbia Harbor, and Cosmic Rays. Would've loved to try the Plaza, but couldn't fit it in. Next time.
We will do Pizzafari on AK day, and just grab some pastries in the World Showcase on Epcot day.
I had booked a breakfast at the Grand Floridian Cafe, but cancelled that because I think the resort is too stuffy feeling for DH. I will try that on some girls trip in the future

How busy is it during the rope drop ceremony at MK? I really would like to see it once, but all the pictures I see on here show a big crowd. I would think getting into the parks immediately following RD would be a nightmare. Then everyone floods down main street at the same time. Am I wrong?

So...I was thinking. Maybe on our MK day we will get up early to make RD, then as the crowd is swarming in, we will head over to the Contemporary and hit up Contempo Cafe or ride the monorail around again and get breakfast at GF's quick serv. Has anyone tried either, which one is best? Or should we just head back and eat at Capt Cooks again?

So, is this a good plan? Or is rope drop really not that bad?

I'm not sure how your crowds are going to be (I haven't gone and looked at TP's estimates) ... but in my experience, we don't mind RD. Really, it's crowded in front of the gate area, but it wasn't so bad that we felt confined (and I'm used to crowd levels being 6-9). Once the show is over and they allow people in, everyone goes their own way. Many stop around Main Street, some do the Dumbo dash, etc. Once we actually get under the railroad bridge, it doesn't feel bad at all. But when it comes to very high crowds, I can say it might feel a bit confined ... however, everyone still goes their own ways. Plus, you can get so much done in the first hour if you are there for RD. I recommend it.

Taxes are efiled and accepted. They said possibly could have them in 8 days. Oh how I would love to have that money before our trip! But I guess it doesn't matter. I can just put it on the card and then pay it off when we get our refund. Yay! 13 days
