First Tornado watch of the season.

I am not looking forward to Tornado Warnings by us. We had so many last year that now my 5yr old is scared to death whenever a tornado watch/warning is mentioned.

We did?? I totally missed that.

This reminds me, I need to mention to DS9 about the tests they do around here the first Tuesday of the month. Last summer was bad with tornado warnings and it really freaked him out and made him worry when he hears the sirens. Now that the temp is right, I just want to prepare him.

Hope all are safe.

I was going to start a thread about the wind in the Midwest, but then got caught up in other posts.

Anyway we are centrally located in WI and we are under an advisory for high winds. Anyway about 8:00 p.m. out electricity went out, then we heard a large explosion. We all went outside and thought it was a transformer.

My husband walked 2 blocks down and a old tree cracked and fell on wires.

Why would a tree crack like an explosion.

Small town living, I'm sure I will hear tomorrow.

Anyway, we have a long nite ahead of us, I can't sleep when nasty weather goes on at nite.

This is definately the Windy City area around here too.

Two strange things happened here today. I tried several times to dial a 1-800 number and it wouldn't go through on the regular line. Then I tried to access the companies web site and it wouldn't go through. I dialed the regular toll number and got right through. They were able to direct me in another way to get to the website I was aiming to get to but it was a round about way. Strange.

I wondered if it had anything to do with the wind. Ours are starting to settle down for the night.

I'm so not ready for nasty weatherl.:( I find it scary (wonder where my DS9 gets that from:confused: ). I'd much rather have snow over unpredicability.

The crack was probably lightening that hit the tree. We had lightening before the T-storm got to us.

I now live in IN so I wonder what the storms are like here. I moved here end of Aug a week before the big Indy flood. I remeber though last summer was bad in IL I lived in Oak Lawn and we had soooo many Tornado warnings. I personally love storms it puts me right to sleep. I know where I live now 2 years ago there was a pretty bad tornado.
