I was thinking about getting an early lunch seating to request a table by the water, but my wife wants to get the dinner menu. Is there a time where its not crowded where for dinner we could more likely get a table by the water? What time should I book?

the first dinner seating is 4:45 I believe, maybe someone can correct me. I don't remember the exact time... anyways we got the first dinner seating a couple weeks ago, got there 15 minutes early and asked for h20. They seated us right at our ressie time :) by the water :) call and ask for the first seating when you make your PS :)

First seating always helps, but we find that getting there before your PS & a willingness to wait usually pays off, no matter what time.

Enjoy!

Completely agree :) we never sit anywhere but the water. We usually get to the ressies minimum 15 min early sometimes much earlier :)
depends on the crowds :scared1:

I'd be more willing to show up and wait just 15 minutes then to show up and then be told to wait an hour, and then not know if I want to do that or not.

We have been told a few times the wait was over an hour. One of those times we were an hour early LOL we waited and got our water seat at our ressie time. LOL The other time we were told an hour (the hostess was rather snobby) we were seated within 15 minutes  :) you just never know :confused3

Ah the fickle gods of dining!

Made another ressie at BB after my DGF saw a picture of the surf and turf. CM said first seating was 1600..kinda thought that was a bit early.

:goodvibes So I probably should keep this secret to myself but since I've learned so much on the boards about WDW, I'll pass it along ;) We've eaten there 5 or 6 times and ALWAYS arrive 5-10 mins early and ask for a water table. We are always told the same thing: It could be 30-40 mins and we must stay near the podium so when they call us we can hear them. Each time we smile and say no problem. Max wait time: 15 mins. Seriously! I think they do it to discourage people. Wait it out folks!!! Well worth it!!!

Great tips thanks!

I talked to the CM when I made ressies about waterside table and he told me to NEVER do it. That it is horrible....

Thanks but Ill try for myself lol

We usually go at 1130 and have gotten WS everytime expect back in 1997. This year we will be doing both lunch and dinner, always arrive early and always ask for waterside.

I also set my time for 11:30 ( first opening ) so we can get water side. I have never done water side so Im looking forward to it!

I've done it, and I didn't like it. Too dark.

When you get there very first thing in the day, and you're among the first to check in, you're likely going to be seated at the water (especially if you ask for it).

Later, first dinner seating or whenever, it's just all up to who else has asked for water, and how long it takes the diners already AT the waterside tables to finish up. Since they are likely trying to FIND their food, as it is so dark, it might take longer, LOL.

:) Ever since Lasik I have AWFUL vision in the dark, and while in BB if I looked towards the door I would be blinded and have to start all over (sadly, hubby was sitting with back to the door so I had to stop looking towards him), so it wasn't a pleasant experience for me, and the second time we ate there, I did NOT request water seating. Far more comfortable and pleasant for me.

You will love it if you like the POTC stuff. $$$ but I enjoy it.

Really? Not to stray off topic, but I had lasik too about 4 years ago and my experience has been quite the opposite. The darkness does not bother me but daylight, especially the sun can be almost painful for me and I wear sunglasses CONSTANTLY. Thats really interesting that it affected both of us differently. :);)

IME we've never had a problem getting waterside seating, we always ask for it, we are always willing to wait, we normally get snobby CM's telling us it will be 45-60 min and we just smile and say "we'll wait", in about 15-20 min. we are seated. Which is perfect because we check in 20-30 min before our PS time. :) And we've been there for the 11:30 PS and we've been there later in the day, we normally do lunch there tho because there is so much food, we are usually fine not eating much more than a churro for the rest of the day. lol
