We have been to DL several times throughout the years, but we've never been able to go when The holiday season is in full swing. I just booked the weekend of the 22-23. My DH is coming this time too! He hasn't been in 2 years due to crowd issues. We will fly in late on the 21st so we can make an 8:10 Minnie's breakfast and park opening ( 9am).

I have tried going though the Christmas thread but it's too overwhelming. My questions are:
Are characters in Christmas attire at Minnie's?

Would you do the fireworks or world of color? If the fireworks from where?

Are the crowds like Memorial Day weekend or closer to late august usually? I need to prepare my DS6 and DH ahead of time.

What besides the DL parade, fireworks, WOC, Jingle Jangle Jamboree, small world, haunted mansion, and jungle cruise are special for the holidays? We are specifically there for just the holiday decor, attractions, shows and characters.

To make an 8:05pm Sunday flight out of SNA would you leave at 5 or 6 or later?

Thank you!

I'm not a huge WoC of fan (it's take-it-or-leave-it for me), so I'd always vote for fireworks without a doubt. I like to watch from between the Partners Statue and the end of Main Street.

Sorry, when you say 22-23, I'm guess you mean November 22-23, right?

Mad T Party in DCA has a holiday themed version of their show. There is also Viva Navidad in DCA and lots of decor throughout the resorts (hotels, parks, DTD).

Sherry E has a good list of the confirmed/rumored activities, entertainment, etc. in the Christmas SuperThread. The thread is long, but it's worth taking a look at the first few posts because she has lots of information and links to help you plan.

I honestly prefer to be early to an airport just in case there are problems or long lines. I general plan to leave about 2 or 3 hours before my flight, depending on travel times. In your case, I would probably aim for somewhere around 5:30 (as in, be in the car/taxi/shuttle on my way at that time).

Do you not need to be in the airport 2 hours before your flight? In which case you'd need to already be in SNA at 6.

On holiday time weekends there are times when it will be as crowded as Memorial Day weekend, but it is not as consistently crowded. For example, it's normal for crowds to pick up around 11am on Sundays. But during a 3 days weekend, most people will stay late because they are either coming back to the park on Monday or can sleep in. On a holiday time weekend, the last hour or 2 after fireworks the crowds will thin out.
