This is our first time to Disney (Well, I went yrs. ago before Epcot was open), my DH has never been, and obviously both DD (5 & 8) have never been either. DH & DD(8) will be celebrating birthdays while we're there and DH and I will be celebrating our 10 yr. anniversary. As of now, we have ASMo for 4 nights & Poly GV for 3 in early Dec. I'd like to go up to GVC for 4 nights (ASMO for 3), but the cost...any resort suggestions and/or special birthday/anniversary tips?
Thanks!!! I'm soooo excited (we haven't decided if we'll tell the kids ahead of time or wake them up and tell them the morning we fly out).

ChristyJ,

First WELCOME to the DIS. How long have you been reading the other threads and do you know about discounts AP codes ect. ect. There are usually some very good discounts during the time you and your family will be visiting WDW. (VALUE SEASON)

I would go with GV at poly for four nights also, it may be less expensive if one of your party bought an annual pass if great codes are issued.

Ask any question I'm sure someone will be able to assist you.

Have a Great Trip.

Thanks for the nice welcome!
I've been reading other posts and have gotten some good info about the resorts. I have heard of AP discounts-can you purchase one when you make a ressie using an AP discount or do you need to have one in hand when you make ressies?

Hi ChristyJ:wave:

You don't need to purchase the AP when you make your ressie but you will need to present it when you check in;) Also, only 1 person in your party needs to have an AP to be eligible for the discount so you could just buy one childs AP if that would make more sense expense wise for you.

I think you can purchase them at the Disney store or online on the official WDW site or you could always buy one at the parks when you arrive and then check in afterward.

Check out www.mousesavers.com for discount codes and which resorts they're eligible for as well as trip dates eligible. And of course keep asking lots of questions here!!

As far as B-days and your anniversary is concerned, let them know of the occassion when you book your ressies as well as any time you make a priority seating. They usually send a card signed by a character and sometimes even balloons or a cake to the room. And for meals - they'll send over CM's and/or characters to sing "happy b-day or anniversary" and will give you complimentary desserts, etc. Have fun and have a happy to all!:teeth: :wave2:

Check out giftsofalifetime.com. They can do some fantastic events for your special days.

Also, pick up an "its my brthday" button from guest services. Borthdays get extra attention around the parks. Everyone will wish them well.

Thanks for all of the advice!!

Do you think I should surprise DH with conceirege at the Poly?
