Our family has always stayed at deluxe resorts and I am a little worried about camping. We camp in a 5th wheel, so its not like tent camping. Does it take along time to reach the boat for MK or the main buses for other parks? Any tips?

FW is a very large spread out campground, so it would depend on what loop you are in. The 100-500 loops are relatively close (walking distance) to the boat dock to MK. There are internal buses that take you to the outpost to catch buses to the other parks. We never have a problem waiting that long for buses in general. Sometimes you will just miss a bus and have a little longer wait for the next one. But not bad IMO.

Some people prefer to rent golf carts and not ride the internal buses. That is a personal decision. We have never rented a cart, as we never felt the need for one. We are not usually at the cc just to ride the carts around the loops, so it would be a waste of $$'s for us. Again, it's a personal decision. There is cart parking near the docks and the outpost.

Have a great trip. Any more specific questions, we'll try to answer. pixiedust:

Honestly, it is not a bad wait for the internal buses. They run fairly often, sometimes one right after another. We have had to wait about 20 minutes for buses at the main hub. You might enjoy taking bikes with you. There is no parking at the popular areas like Trailsend, the campfire, or pool, but there are bike racks.

Thanks, I was wondering about the bikes. We are staying in the basic full hookup sites. I wanted to save because of the travel cost with pulling a camper. We are going October 5 -12th. It's our 7th year in a row at this time of year.

Just be sure to bring bike locks with you - they have been known to *walk off* when people have left them - both at the marina and other bike racks, and at campsites left unattended. Also, don't leave anything on them (in baskets, etc.) that you can't live without ;) Front and back lights are required after dark. Just a few *heads up* hints! Have a great stay! pixiedust:
