First-timers planning trip for April - Should I book now?

Hi All!
First, thanks for being such an incredible resource! The amount of info here is overwhelming, but I'm catching on.

My husband and I are planning to take our DD5 and DD2 on a surprise trip in April. I am a teacher, so I have only one week from which to choose - Spring Break, which is April 15-20.

I had been hoping that our week would fall within this upcoming discount period, but no luck. Having said that, I can hope that we catch the next round. But should I book now? Or wait for a possible PIN? I've gotten a couple in recent months, but none for our dates. Do PINs usually appear for existing reservations, too, or would I be virtually removing all possibility of a getting one by booking?

You can book now and apply discount later if you get one. I too, am waiting for April discounts. I think they release spring discounts in November I thought I read.

Book now. Where are you guys from? That is our vacation week as well and we are booked for sure. I am thinking that there will be some kind of deal for us.

I agree with booking now. This will allow you to make an ADRs if you are wanting to with the 10+ days (unless you are already past it but I don't think it's quite there yet). Like others have mentioned you will be able to apply the discount later if it comes out.

I'm planning on going in May and I'm willing to wait to book right up to the day before I can make my 180+10 ADRs. Then, I will just hope that we will get a discount.

As far as the PIN, I can't answer that. I've never been fortunate enough to get one. I don't know that the PINs have any rhyme or reason for coming to any particular person, but of course, I'm not Disney so I don't know for sure.

Thank you all! So I guess there isn't very much of a downside to booking now, huh? We are closing in on time for ADRs, so I guess I should go ahead and get busy.

Johnson1220, we're in Atlanta. At first I was annoyed that our Spring Break had been scheduled so late, but now I'm hoping the crowds are smaller than average for our week at WDW!

I would book now so you can get the 180+10 for your ADRs next week. We'll be there the same week as you and I have everything crossed for a discount!!!

Welcome! 180+10 means that on the 180 day mark from your check-in date you can make dining reservations for up to 10 days of your vacation. You have to be staying on-site for that benefit, otherwise you'd have to call (or go online) at the 180 day mark from each date you need dining reservations for.
