Do you think that the 3d / 4d shows philharmagic,muppetvision,shrek etc are suitable for a 2 1/2 year old or is she likely to be scared by them, also any other things not suitable for her (apart from the obvious with height restrictions)

My youngest was 5 when we first went to Orlando. He never liked the 3D shows and has only this year accepted them more (aged 14). I think the milder ones are Philharmagic and the Muppetvision. She could be a little bit scared in the Honey one and Shrek 4D. Shrek 4D has a bit more interaction at the seat level (I don't want to spoil it for you). I know a little one, about 1 1/2 screamed the place down when we were in and couldn't escape. She can always take the glasses off if things seem a bit too real for her.

Burt - I think she will be too young to be honest.
Shame because SHREK is brilliant, to be honest much better than any other 3d/4d whatever. Muppetvision appears a bit dated by comparison.

The only rides that I think 'may' be suitable are the likes of Peter Pan, Winnie The Pooh etc
Other than these cannot really suggest any for a child of that age, perhaps the carousels or Dumbo - basically there are a few possibilities at MK, but really you are struggling mate.

when my kids were that age they loved the TTA....i must have ridden it a thousand times in their early years (they still love it)

You mean the 'Tomorrowland Transit Authority' ? I am hopeless with abbreviations, just had to get a old MK park map out to find out what TTA is!!

Do you know, we have been to Florida 13 times - I honestly do not think we have ever been on the Tommo....TTA
It has always been there but just haven't been that excited by it - will have to go on it next August now though!

Burt seems that you have had a load of replies,I haven't been on for a few days but here 's my advice:Take your own buggy or hire a stroller every day,your little one may be very indepedant but you're probably averaging 6-7 miles (more in some parks) a day.

Or do what we do and go to WalMart/Target and buy a stroller for the time you are there.
Cheap and then can be dumped, easier than dragging your own stroller around and cheaper than hireing one. Though get one with a hood to keep those rays off the little 'uns head!

has anyone used photopass at wdw and if so what did you think, are the photos expensive, how many do they take, are they taken on the rides?

They will take as many photos as you like (within reason!) - you can even have the same pics taken on different days by differnet poeple and see which you like. They will also happily take the same poses with your own camera (although you don't get cute add-ons like Tink and Stitch on your own camera)

There's no charge for taking the pics - you only pay for what you order. When we were ordering they had a special offer, and as my mum wanted an "official" photo of the 4 of us to go in the frame we bought her I ordered 4 pics - three for us and one for her - and I think they worked out about $6 each - p&P wasn't excessive either.

You can also play around with them online adding borders and logos so you get a great choice.

I'd say to anyone - get as many pics taken as you can (somehow we never saw anyone at AK ) but get them to use your camera as well. Then when you get home you have a good month to decide - in fact ours were available for about 4 months in the end, they only took them off to make room as 4 July approached

we used photopass on our last 3 trips...
we ordered pictures from the first two trips, i'm just now ordering from the last time there (in September)..

the pictures came out absolutely gorgeous.....i'm not particularly photogenic, but somehow these guys must learn how to make even someone like me turn out not half bad....and the quality of the pictures we received (about 5 days after placing the order) was stupendous....i have never seen such high quality pictures.....the ones that come in the mail are far superior to the ones that you can buy at the parks (at the end of the day)...

i should note that the pictures are extremely expensive....but the quality's so good i haven't felt badly about the cost..

also, you can share your pictures (even if you don't buy them) with other people...that is you can invite them to view the pictures online (though you can't save them online...well you can...but not good quality)...

Hi, Im not new to this site (have been avidly reading and researching previous trips since 2002) but have decided to join in the fun and hopefully pass on some things i have learnt about WDW. However can someone tell me what photopass is and how it works? We were given a card when our photos were taken last year, but that was just to view and purchase and the end of the day.

Photopass is exactly what you described. The official disney photographers are all over the parks and will take your pictures and hand you a card. These pictures can be checked at disney or you could take your card home and check them online from the comfort of your own computer. You can then choose to order them if you wish.
