OK, I'm setting this up for my girlfriend and her son. I want to make this enjoyable and as painless as possible -- she's never had a "real" vacation and I want her to be able to enjoy her time there and for them both to have a good time.
In February I bought them Annual Passes to US/IOA (hoping to get the second year free deal w/coupon from Burger King).
Flying from Atlanta to Orlando. I don't believe her son has ever flown and she's only flown once. Converting e-tickets to paper tickets for less hassle.
I've booked a deluxe room at Portofino Bay for $180/night w/ Entertainment rate for 3 nights (Sun-Wed Jul 13-16). Requested west wing. Gave them my LoewsFirst member id. Will request a late check-out.
I'll arrange for ground transportation to & from the airport.
I just ordered Kelly's book from Amazon.
Making list of 'special' items to pack (ziploks to protect camera from water, card holder for room key) don't know what other little things she should bring. Any suggestions?
Not sure exactly where they'll be eating. Don't want to blow the entire budget on food, but also want them to have a nice time. Probably eat at Mama's in PBH and the deli I guess. Any good seafood restaurants on site (oysters, crab, salmon)?
I've been reading this board for some time and have been making notes, I'm sure I've missed some details along the way.
