First timer

Hi everyone!!

WE never been to universal studios and planning a trip in august 2007. I am looking at the dates of August 20-24. We are a family of 4, hubby and me, childern, daughter 16 and my son is turning 10 on the 21st of august.

I thought I would start getting started now.

What is the best way to book this?
What kind of deals can I get?

What is the cheapest way to book? Hotel then add tickets? I am looking at Royal Pacific.....I do have a lowe's credit card.

I can not get the universal fan club. I already checked.

Are the crowds little low at this time?

Is there any characters meals? My son loves spiderman.

I read somewhere $10 for parking at the resort. Is that right?

I am not sure where to start. Any info or help would be great!

im not sure if i can answer all of your questions but ill give it a try.
hotel: good choice with the RPR!! its beautiful and, ironically, the cheapest of the three onsite hotels. there are many possibilities for room deals, so you should probably choose yourself. this website should be of some great help for rates and booking: http://www.universalorlando.com/404.html Also, you should check out the RPR club level. for a little bit more money, you have the convenience of breakfast, snacks, drinks, etc.

crowds: the crowds are not TOO bad at this time, but with your room card from your hotel, you'll be able to cut the lines anyways.

character breakfasts: i know for sure that there are a couple of character breakfasts because i passed by them and seen the characters. at IOA i've seen spiderman at these too, so your son will be happy. i dont know details about them, but there should be a thread in the US/IOA forum concerning price, etc.

parking: yes there is a small fee for parking at the hotel, but it is a lot better than the price of the parking at the parks.

tickets: this will depend on the hotel deals that you get: some rooms may come with tickets and then you can just buy the rest at the gate.
