First timer to Minnie's character breakfast - advice please

well crap, now I'm worried about our 10:30 reservation. Someone said it's a good time to go but I dont want it to seem rushed.
You won't feel rushed. We had a 10:40 reservation last year and still had great interactions with all of the characters. Some even came to our table twice! We didn't feel rushed at all.

I Did it 3 times now. Love to do it first Thing in the morning. 2 weeks ago we were the first. And my daughters had 5 minutes of fun alone with 6 characters at the entrance. Best experience I ever had at A character breakfast

Another member suggested it was best to allow 1 1/2 hours so we aren't rushed and the breakfast finishes at 11am so I didn't want to go any later than 9.30am otherwise we will be rushed and characters will leave. Looks like we will go Tuesday and stick to the 9.40am booking. Thanks heaps for all your help!
We've done this breakfast several times at 10:15 or 10:30 and have never been rushed. Our experience has been that they begin to remove the breakfast buffet at 11 (they change over to lunch, but the characters are around later than that. Even when I've heard (read) reports of people feeling "rushed," they've always been 10:30-40 reservations... so you're certainly well ahead of that possibility and could push back to 10:00 without fear if you wanted. Just for what that's worth...

So confusing as it says till 11am on their site where you book and when I called. Sounds like different customer service are saying different things!
If you don't care about the number of characters you see, going later is fine.
I think 11am is when they begin to wind-down breakfast.

The time we went at 10:30 we didn't have a problem getting enough food. There was plenty to select from.
But we had gone mainly for the character interaction. That time we only had a few come by our table.
It was real disappointing seeing the characters at distant tables expecting them to come by ours and then they slip into backstage room, to never re-appear.

You should be fine. We always book at 10:30 or at the earliest 10:15 as a "brunch" for us. We have never seen less than 7 characters, and we have seen up to 12 or 13. We have never felt rushed. In fact, there was a time that the restaurant was not busy at all, so the characters did not have other tables to see and the kept coming to our table over and over to play with DD - we barely found time to eat that trip. It was great. That was not normal, but it is not unusual that time for a character to pop by twice if it is not too busy. We prefer that time because we don't miss the early less crowded park hours and short lines, and the Plaza is usually not horribly crowded so the food lines aren't long etc.

OP- We like to go at the beginning of our trip. We like to see the characters, and then depending on who we see, there are usually some we do not have to make an effort to find. Also it is just fun to see all the characters early in the trip. 9:40 would be fine, but if you want to go a little later, if DD is starving and can't wait, I usually just feed her a Churro (which also has been known to be our breakfast of choice on other days).

What a shame that happened to you! Our 10:40 reservation was very different. We saw all 11 characters and some twice even. You should not have been skipped over just because you had a later reservation. :sad2:

I'm fortunate I get to fly down with the grandkids once or twice a year.
But I do feel bad when something like this happens to those on their once in a life time trip.

Since our experience at the later time, I know book 10am or earlier.

My favorite time is 10 minutes after opening on a morning DL opens for EE/MM and we do not have EE/MM for that trip.
We can still get in early for our reservation and enjoy the CB.
