Three or four days should be plenty of time to get a 'taste' for Miami.

I'm from there and where you stay depends upon what you'd like to do.

South Beach is party-central in Miami. There are also a lot of neat art deco buildings from the 1920's. :thumbsup2

Miami Beach is more 'traditional' Miami.

Hope this helps! Feel free to PM me if you have any questions! :wave2:

Hi there. I have to be honest, I would never go to Miami again if you paid me! My husband & I went with our 4 year old for just a evening/night stopover on our way to the keys. We were driving a hire car. We took a wrong turn and ended up in a very hostile area of Miami (don't ask me where it was, I can't remember 'cos I was soooooo scared). We were basically fightened for our lives! I can honestly say I have never been so frightened. We eventually found our hotel (which was a dump), it had no resturant so my husband had to brave the outside and find us a Burger King to bring back to our room. The only saving grace is that we found a Starbucks in the morning for breakfast.
When you go, please make sure you have researched the areas you are staying in and EXACTLY where you are going (to and from airport etc). Take all the extra security precautions 'cos nothing is worth your life.

Haven't been there in years, but Miami Beach is probably cheaper, and South Beach is hipper. Three to four days would either be sufficient or not nearly enough. I

Miami is a very large city so it depends on what you want to do. Personally I love Miami but if you tend to be the timid type, you'd better be sure where you're going. Yes there are bad areas, but all large cities have them. Generally speaking, as long as you're out by the Atlantic Ocean, you'll be OK.
