Hi all,
So my boyfriend and I are trying to plan a trip to Orlando just for Universal Studios, since whenever we go down for Disney we end up spending all our time there. (Disney is my first love, so it makes sense ;)).

Our question is, when is the best time to go? And how many days should we stay to get to do everything? We're going to both Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, and want to be able to do all the rides plus shop and eat, so how long should we spend there?

TIA!:thumbsup2

I think you ought to plan on spending at least two full days...one for each park. As far as the best time to go...November (except around Thanksgiving weekend) and early December. The weather is wonderful, hurricane season is just about over and the crowds are low. You should also plan on trying CityWalk one night...it's a great atmosphere and if you like DTD you should really enjoy CityWalk.

If its in your budget try staying on-site.The FOTL perk is great and so are the resorts.Royal Pacific is my fav and its the cheaper of the three..
If you book two nights you get 3days of the FOTL perk.:thumbsup2
Like metro stated Nov or Dec are the best months for the weather alone.
But 3 days is better in my eyes.1day per park and the 3'rd day to re-do your favs...IMO

Went first week of Dec last year and it was a dead zone. Had FOTL but everything was 5 min wait. I would say since you want to eat and shop to do a min of 3 days to take your time and have some fun.

Staying onsite is great for some ppl. Its not for me except for the FOTL perk so 5 min lines make me feel like I wasted money. Usually $30 hotels I stay at are imo as nice as the onsite ones and I get free parking so saves me money that way. Im sure others feel differently. Its fun experience that if you can afford its worth doing but you will be spoiled by the FOTL its great!

Yeah...I'm sure staying onsite is great but you're right...depending on the season, you don't need to do so.
