We have 9 year old twin girls and want to do the water parks a couple of afternoons. Any suggestions or tip would be appreciated. :earsgirl:

Both Water parks are a blast, but Blizzard Beach seems to have more to do for young children. Small water slides, medium water slides etc. The lazy river is better in my opinion.

Typhoon Lagoon is fun, but the wave pool waves can throw you around quite a bit. I've seen adults who weren't paying attention and were only standing in knee deep water get knocked over by the waves. And the bottom is rough, so if you do get pulled along the bottom it can give you a nasty scrape.

I know there will be other opinions, but BB is our favorite of the 2 (but not by much).

I was going to ask same question :cool1: :goodvibes :flower: :wizard:

I've never been to either but that huge slide at Blizzard Beach scares me to death and I was afraid my son would want to go on it, so I was just going to do Typhoon Lagoon, but now I think we'll do both. I really want to do TL because of the "swim with sharks" thing.

If you want to go on the slides, it would be better to hit the waterparks in the morning at least one day. By afternoon, the lines can be long, while first thing in the morning, you won't have much of a wait and can snag a few chairs.

Bring a small cooler with water and snacks.

Don't sit in the wave pool at TL. We tried that and even at a low depth, the waves were strong enough to knock my DD over and cause a scrape.

BB - they will love the Ski Patrol area, perfect for their age. Whole park is cartoon themed and the kids love it, lots of slides, ski lift, family raft ride is great, lazy river and a wave pool that isn't so rough as TL.

Ditto on getting there early and securing a spot. We usually head to the far corner of Ski Patrol area for a table that is covered and has chairs as well. (get map and go to the right) Take a small cooler with drinks, snacks and then buy your lunch. Food is reasonable. We all love to eat the kids meal - sand bucket/shovel with a grilled cheese soft pretzel etc. Great value and it's yummy in the tummy. Get waterproof cameras and take them on the slides and all over. You'll get some great shots! You'll have a blast.

WE love BB!! Be sure to wear water shoes your feet will thank you for it> And definitely bring a cooler. WE bring sandwiches and drinks and buy our snacks.

When we went to BB and TL for the first time, we decided to take things slow and try to get to know the parks a little better. One thing I discovered was that the walkways are more winding than at the theme parks. It was very easy to get off course! But these were also our "rest days" so we felt it was ok to just meander around and look. I thought both parks were beautiful. The only thing we HAD to do was Shark Reef at TL. That was tops on my 10 y/o's list! Our other children were teens and so they could go off on their own to do the slides. We also took a cooler with some snacks and drinks. That seemed to make the day less stressful as well. One thing I highly recommend at both parks are the "family slides". Our 10 y/o handled the wave pool at TL very well. But I kept my eyes on him the entire time. I was very impressed with the number of lifeguards stationed throughout the parks. :earsgirl:
