My family and i are considering going in july. It will be about a 24 hour drive from up here in Ontario. i really don't knoe where to start. Right now we have been looking at the All-star movie resort. I have been looking for discounts around the net with little success. Is the best way to book using the disney site? or is there a better way.

Thanks for any help you can give.

You will get lots of good information from this website regarding bargains at WDW. July is one of the busiest months to go and it will be very hot in Orlando.

good luck with your planning,

Fellow Canadian!!

Can Canadians get Disney Visas? or AAA?
These offer specials to there members.
Another Plus is that the Canadian Dollars may be worth more
the the USD and that should help.

Call Disney directly (CRO = Central Reservations Office) and ask for some quotes. If you are a member of CAA/AAA, then Disney can quote the discount for you. If you are not a member, you may want to consider joining. Get some quotes at all the level resorts, value-moderate-deluxe. The lease expensive deluxe resorts will be WL and AKL standard rooms. Moderates should all be the same price for standard rooms. I'd get quotes for all levels and then go on the disney website and read these message boards to get a feel for which resort appeals to you the most.

1-407-WDisney. I believe booking over the phone gives you a better cancellation policy. You will get a confirmation number and you can then go to the www.waltdisneyworld.com website and view your reservation.

There are no general public discounts out for July yet, but I'd book a room at the CAA/AAA discount to be sure you get one.

If you do decide to call the CRO, ask if there are any discounts available for your travel dates, it doesn't hurt to ask.

We use AAA all the time for room only discount. If you are a AAA member, contact a AAA TA to see if you can get a discount. Some hotels have less AAA rooms so try to plan ahead.

No to Disney Visa, it's only for US residents. Canadians can get a discount through CAA, I did it last year and know an awesome TA who is a Disney specialist through CAA.

You might want to consider renting point from a DVC member. It is the prices are pretty much the same if you use the points for a studio at OKW. You will get 2 queen size beds instead of 2 full size the rooms are much bigger than at a value. You get a large bathroom. A small fridge and a microwave. Renting from a dvc member is fairly easy as long as you have a pay pal account.

Hi - we're in ontario too, and made our first disney trip last august. We thought it was a once in a lifetime thing, but we had so much fun we are planning for this august too! I just got off the phone with CAA, and they offer discounted rates, the quote she gave me was about $500 cheaper for a party of 7 at AKL, which imo wasn't that great of a discount - less than 10% really. I'm still waiting, and hoping for free dining to be announced too. AS far as the drive, if you like driving that's great, but if not, check out spirit air, and southwest, they often have amazing sales out of detroit. You have to subscribe to get updates to your inbox, and JUMP on them when you get them - but there are some great deals.
