Hi all, first timer to FW and first family trip to DW, its been 15 years since my last visit! Will be tent camping with DH, DD (4), DS (3). Have primitive tent camped many times with the kids, our favorite being Elkmont Campground in the Smoky Mtns (anyone else love that place?!?!).

Here's our game plan:
Spending few days at the beach before heading down...
Arrive Tuesday-set up camp, swim, see the Chipmunk show
Wednesday-MK with BOG reservations 8:30am
Thursday-Mini-golf, swim, Disney Springs
Friday-MK again, leave after 3pm parade, rest up, go back for fireworks and late CRT reservation (11pm)
Saturday-pack up and head home (Missouri)

For tent camping not preferred site, which loops would you recommend? Would like to be close to the pool as we plan to use it alot.

How early will the boats run? For our BOG reservation, that is before park opening and I would really like to be at the park by 8ish for pics, etc. Is the boat, a bus, or our own car are best bet? Also I read something about going to the Contemporary and then walking to MK? Also, the Friday we are there is a MK EMH so will it run early on those days as well? Is the boat fairly dependable to go to and from MK during the day?

Would love to get to see some of the other parks, but with the kids at this age we want to keep it short and enjoyable for all of us. When they are bigger and ready to tackle the big rides, no strollers, etc we plan to make a full week of it!

If anyone has any suggestions, tweeks, etc that would be fabulous! But one of my biggest concerns in dependable transportation early in the mornings.

Thanks!

sounds like 1500 loop may be your best bet for the things you are looking to be close to. Just across the street from the pool, after you walk a little sidewalk and cross a bridge.

The boat from the Fort to MK typically starts around about 30-45 minutes prior to park opening. There is the boat to the Contemporary that starts about 0645. We used it this past visit in October to make our early reservation at the BBB that was about 30 minutes prior to the park opening. The walk from the Contemporary to MK was maybe 10 minutes.

Oh yeah, :welcome:

We stayed right across from the the trading post. 1000 loop. You may also look into get a shuttle to the MK for breakfast. You may be able to take a boat to Compt or WL and hope another boat/monorail to MK.

Also spent a few trips in the 300 loop. Some of the sites on the back side of the movie/towards dog park are pretty nice and close to pool.

Enjoy. Look at heading down through memphis to dotham, VS atlanta. Its a way easier drive.

Thank you so much for the replies! And we will definitely check the Dotham route!
