We went on our very first WDW trip in July for 8 days. Although I had everything layed out as far as park touring (thanks to TourGuideMike), ADR's, etc., I was dissappointed that I hadn't taken pictures of more things such as the signs for restaurants and attractions. Could it be that I was too involved with all the magic to pay attention?

Now that I'm doing my scrapbook, I really wish I had taken more photos!

Anyone else miss out on the opportunities like this?

Hi, right here with you. We went in August. I too thought I had it all together, ADR's, time schedules, TourGuide Mike, yup the whole nine yards. Unfortunately for me, I left the picture taking up to my DH. We were there 7 days and only have 300 photos. Most of those are of the safari and Jungle Cruise and few of Spectro. We had front row outside dining at Rose&Crown for Illuminations and did he take any photos? Nope not one. No fireworks and no restaurant photos. Take any in the Coral Reef, nope. Take any of Tony's, nope.
Told him it was ALL his fault that now we have to go again, just so I can scrap some photos. :rotfl:

Funny thing, I use to be like that...take tons and tons of pictures so I would be able to record the magic totally when I got home or where ever I was.....Lately I have backed off on the picture taking! Gasp! But I found once I went through my pictures I really did have enough to create a good scrap book. If there was some fixture or something I missed I could find a picture on line to use. So relax! Work on your book and use your journaling to create what you missed in pictures! Hard I know but sometimes I think especially with this digital age we are loosing the view from infront of the camera! The ladies on here are great at sharing their pictures! So when you find you really wish you had something just ask!

Spinning pretty much summed up what I was going go say. If you feel you really need a photo of a ride or restaurant, you can pretty much find it here. You can ask the folks here on the scrapping board or do a search over at http://www.wdwinfo.com/pictures.htm#blue-pictures

I have "borrowed" just a few pictures over the years when I felt that I was missing a key photo or mine didn't come out great. For some reason it bothers my DD (11) that I am using photos that "aren't mine", but it doesn't bother me! I figured I saw it/ate at it/watched it/rode it.... whatever.... I can use any picture I want!...............P

SOrry for the hijack...but, wow! I didn't know there were sites to "borrow" pictures!! I always come back from trips wishing I had taken more pictures. How do you "borrow" these pictures? How do you get them printed? Do you need to ask permission?? This opens up a whole new world and interest in getting my Disney trips scrapped....hmmmmmmmm :scratchin

I completely understand what you are saying! We usually take a bunch of pictures, but there are always some when I get home that I think, "Why didn't I get that?" This year, I didn't get a good pic of the Headless Horseman at MNSSHP, so I think I may have to "borrow" one of those! I'm sure, like Spinning said, that if you need some specific photos, some of us probably have them! :thumbsup2

AlexWyattMommy--I have a really good pic of the fountain inside Tony's if you need it! ;)

I think it's wonderful when I get caught up in the magic & forget to take pictures. I use the opportunity to write about my feelings, and do a photo-less page, like the one I did for the 4th of July. Try doing a page with no photos!

This is a really great idea! I did write a journal at the end of each day during our stay so I think I'll add some of that to my pages!

Uhhh...and how would I "borrow" a picture if I see one that I like? I've never printed a photo from a website before.

Thanks all!

You can right click on the photo, "save as" and then modify it, print it out, upload it to a photo-printing site, whatever. I do, however, respect copyrights, so if it is someone else's photo, I always ask for permission by email!

I also did not take enough photos. How could I forget to take photos of the outside of places we ate?

Next time I will be prepared, and I will have extra memory cards. Don't understand why they get so slow once they have 500 photos on them. ;)

I had good intentions and bought enough memory for at least 600 pics @ 7mp but I got distracted and only ended up with about 232! Oh well, we will just have to go again! :teeth:

DH would probably love for me to get distracted! :rotfl: We just got a new camera and I was playing with the settings to see how many photos we can get on one gig. If you set it low enough, you can get over 5000!!!

He had me set it to 600 photos at 6mp....

I have this problem with every vacation I go on, even though I take TONS of pictures. I've been working on my scrapbook from Gettysburg and have found that the over 750 pictures I took that day aren't enough! :lmao: I've borrowed from otehr places to get those images I think I've missed. Next is my scrapbook for Antietam and their website has some amazing pictures if I need to "borrow" any, which I might, because 500+ isn't enough! ;)

My sister wants more pictures from WDW and has a list of all the things she wants pictures of. She may be a little obsessed

Me too! When I went in August, I took nearly 900 photos with my new DSLR, and (between the kids and I) took nearly 500 more with a small point and shoot. Though I have a lot of pictures, I notice I tend to concentrate them in certain areas and completely miss others. Though it's likely going to be a long time before I make it back there, I will try to get some of these things:

- Main Street (always in a rush in the morning to get to the rides!)... always forget/tired by end of day

- Tomorrowland and Fantasyland - perhaps too busy with the rides?

- Signs of rides/restaurants we visited - I actually tried hard to get more signage this time... but there were plenty I missed!

- I also wish I got more shots of the kids in each 'land'... those would have helped to personalize my pages better

I take so many pictures and yet miss so many each trip! I have scads of pictures (pre-digital) and now with digital I go crazy. Working on my scrapbooks and trying to improve my photo skills makes it even tougher!

We just got back from 7 days at WDW earlier this week and DH and DS kept saying, "Oh Mom's taking another another texture shot" again! Since I already have so many shots of the different attractions etc. I am experimenting now and they think it's funny when I take pics of signs and windows and flowers but the results are worth it!

Keep on clickin'
