First timer and rides

It's right after the first screen. the track tilts down then the vehicles are released. If you watch the lights on ride on youtube you can see it quite clearly. I watched all the lights on or how it's made videos I could in preparation for my trip. I'm less afraid of spoilers than I am of drops XD

Thanks! I hope it's not that bad of a drop!

The only rides with the traditional “big drops” are Velocicoaster, Hulk, Rip Ride Rockit, & Dr. Doom’s Fearfall.
I’d highly recommend trying everything else. Hagrid’s has launches but there are no big drops & you do not lose your stomach. The theming is amazing!

As a friend of a "no drops" person, she would also add Jurassic Park river adventure and the Dudley Doright flume to the skip list.

Hagrids is ok although near her limit - but is actually her favorite ride. Try the sidecar first as it feels more secure.
She did like Slinky Dog Dash though, so maybe a little more tolerant than you ;)

Simpson's/ FJ / Gringotts / Mummy/ Spiderman / Transformers - all ok. They are clearly shorter drops or simulated heights.

Universal has many simulator rides with screens. How do you feel about simulated drops where it an illusion and you are not physically experiencing a steep drop, but the movement of the ride and the screen makes it seem like the drop is steeper than it is?

I am actually ok with those!

If you can handle simulators, then you should be fine on Minion Mayhem, the Jimmy Fallon ride, and the Simpsons Ride. However, the Simpsons ride is not very smooth and unless you are in the first row of the multi-row car, I do not think the ride as enjoyable.

Hi all! I am the OP here. I just wanted to come back and say how I loved all the rides mentioned! Universal really does a great job! The only ones I didn't do were the big drops rides and Hagrid's but I LOVED everything else. Forbidden Journey and Gringott's were my favorite..so much fun! Maybe next time I'll be brave enough to experience Hagrid's! Thank you all for your suggestions!!!

Thank you! I will def go on Forbidden Journey and Escape from Gringotts. It's the classic coaster big drops that I want to avoid.
Gringott's is a coaster/dark ride hybrid attraction with much more dark ride type elements. The biggest drop is probably similar to the big drop on 7DMT so you should be ok on it. It's definitely smaller scale coaster wise than big thunder mountain.

Yes, thank you!!
