Hey all I am going to attempt to write a trip report for my holiday last November. A while ago I know, but I wanted to share my first trip to WDW with you all. I will add some pics but for now its just text.
Well I left Australia at 1:30pm 2 hours later then was meant to, and got it at 8:30 or so into LA. And of course because of that missed the connecting flight to Orlando. Was not a great start to my trip. But after a 5 hour delay and nearly missing the plane in Texas (was not informed of time difference) I made it to Orlando, and by the time I got to the room at the hotel it was like 12:30 am. I of course made the mistake of not sleeping on the 14 hour flight to LA either. So after one really, really long day I was beat and collapsed on the bed.
The first full day there
Well I had a ticket for MNSSHP on October 31st (my first Halloween) so I thought today I would head to Epcot. I walked in and was in love, it was amazing, and I loved looking up at Spaceship Earth, though it was down for Refurb at the time. My first stop was Inoventions, I love new tech. After that I went to Test Track, and the line was huge.. mostly cause there was a lite drizzle happening, so I used the single rider line, and with in like 2 mins was on my first ride at Disney World. That ride was awesome.. it was great. The next one was Mission Space. I asked the guy giving the tickets out why there were two colours and then spent like 5 mins debating which one I wanted to go onto.. I choose the orange. Never did end up doing the green. If you go to Epcot you must ride this ride, it is one of my all time favs of all the rides I have been on.
Well next for me at Epcot was The Land, went on Soarin Which I had already been on at DCA. Was still amazing, even though I waited for like 45 mins. Then did the Circle of Life film and was very scared for our planet. After that did Nemo and the living seas, then headed to World Showcase. I spent the afternoon walking around WS looking in every shop head lunch at the little place next to the lagoon in mexico, was very nice. By about 4 in the afternoon I was very tired, so I called it day and headed back to the hotel. Wandered around the hotel, got food and went to bed early.
Day Two (Halloween)
Well the day was here, the reason I came at this time of year, Halloween. I got up early and head to Magic Kingdom. Was there early enough to see and record on video the opening ceremony show. Was very impressed. After I headed in and went to TomorrowLand. Space Mountain was the first stop, and boy was it great. Though the huge escalator at the end was a huge shock, I had no idea about that. Then went and hit POTC and HM, then onto BTMR and SM. By this time it was getting near lunch so did Tiki room, was not impressed by the cheap looking Iago and Zazu all the other birds look great and they look like crap. Had lunch on main st and then headed to Fantasy Land.
The rest of the day was pretty cool, took heaps of photos and rode IASW, which I did under protest, but last time I was at DLR with my parents, my mum wanted to record it, she loves it. So I went on it and recorded it. Then back to HM again. After tea at StarLight Rays Cosmic Café I started to enjoy the fact the I was staying inside the park while people were leaving. I did the candy run, and then watched the parade. And I was not aware of the fireworks so I had left before them.
Day 3
The next day I head to then, Disney-MGM Studios. Went straight for the tour up in the backlot and was lucky enough to be chosen to be the captain of the boat in the water attack scene. After that went and did Star Tours and a few other things, then caught the Indiana Jones Stunt Show. Was still raining a little so they cut it short, headed across to TZToT and RNRSA . Two very cool rides. Caught the stars on Parade Parade. Loved Hades car, then headed back to the hotel and onto DTD. Spent some time just wandering around enjoying the place and had tea and called it a day.
Day 4 Hunting on the plains of Africa
Well day 4 saw me at Disneys Animal Kingdom and it was great. First thing I did was head to the huge snow topped mountain, much like everyone else. Again after using the single rider line I got on, and was nervous at first but after the 4th or 5th ride that day, had no idea why. Then walked nice and slowly over to Kilimanjaro Safaris. That was great, learnt somethings and saw a lion I love lions.. Then did KRR and got soaked. Had to buy a towel.. loved it though. Then headed over to DinoLand USA. Did the rides there and loved dinosaur.. by this time I was getting tired so I went to Everst for one or two more rides before calling it day.
Day 5
Well today was a change of location.. there was nothing Disney about this day as I headed to Universal Studios for the first of two days there. I knocked the entire two parks over in less than one full day, no one was really there.. they have some great rides though. Also spent time watcing Bee Movie there as well.
Day 6,7,8
Spent time back at Disney World at MK, Epcot and DHS.
Day 9
Today I spent touring Sea World, I had booked a tour so I could enjoy all there was. Ate Lunch with Shamu and got to pet Dolphins and sting rays and feed seals and the dolphins. Went on some of the awesome rides there. Was a great day.
Day 10,11,12 and 13
Back to Disney World again. I spent all the time at the parks again doing everything I did not do on the first two trips there again. Wanted to make sure I did it all, turns out I did not, but thats ok gives me a reason to go back. Also during this time I went to DisneyQuest and loved it.. all those retro games.
On day 14 I headed back to Orlando Airport to head back to LA. Got back there and went to Disneyland Resort for one week. It was great. Will post more on that later. Sorry for the shortness of the last few days.. will expand with pics..
Over all though I spent two weeks in Florida and it was great. Cant wait to head back again.
If you want to see some of the video let me know will upload it to youtube or something. Got everything from illumniations, spectromagic through to test track ride.
