Renting a car for our first trip since we will be staying off site at the Caribe Royale hotel. Was wondering how the driving is down in Florida. Is it confusing or well marked?? Any information would help.

Thanks

To get to the Caribe Royale take the South Exit from the airport, once you leave airport property you will merge with Boggy Creek Rd, joining it in the left lane. Get into the right lane and get on the Greeneway Tollway 417. You will pass through two toll booths ($1 each), take the first exit after the second toll booth (International Drive). Go straight at the first light, and Caribe Royale will be on your right, a 7-Eleven in a strip mall will be on your left.

Thank you so much...was wondering how I was going to find the hotel...I told my kids that we will have plenty of time to get to the hotel to check in so if I would get lost not to freak out or anything...LOL..

Thanks again...

Staying off-site should be no problem. Everything from the airport to the hotel was well-marked and the roads easy to navigate. Of course, we took a few wrong ramps here and there and had to double track, but overall had an uneventful experience driving around. Don't worry, you'll be fine.

as long as it is well marked i don't think i will have a problem, i heard their is toll roads down there...how much are they and is there any on the way from the airport to the hotel....or should i say international drive....also what type of insurance information do you need to bring with you when you pick up your rental car...i know you need your drivers license and to have a major credit card...but is your car insurance card all you need??

Thanks for the Post!!Please keep them coming!!

Taking the Greeneway there are two toll booths between MCO and your hotel - $1 each. I've never been asked for insurance card at National Car Rental, but I always carry mine just in case. What car rental company are you using? My previous directions to your hotel assumed you were using one of the 'on-site' companies at MCO (National, Avis, there's a couple more I can't remember.) I think Hertz and Alamo are off-site.

I will be using Alamo...it is not located at the airport...but i heard down by the baggage area their is a counter for the car rentals and that they would shuttle me their...is that true??? never been to that airport...or in florida for that matter...not sure how it is layed out...

thanks again

MCO is a very easy airport to find your way around. Once you deplane, follow the crowd to the automated shuttles. These shuttles will take you to the main terminal, take an escalator or elevator to the baggage claim areas (again, just follow the crowd). Once you retrieve your baggage you will need to take elevators or rscalators down to the car rental level. I've never used Alamo, so I don't know if you need to check with a counter at the airport, or if you just walk out to some shuttle busses. You'll find most airport employees are very tourist friendly and will be happy to point you in the right direction.

Having not used Alamo, I don't know if it would be easier for you to take the Greeneway Tollway or the Bee Line Tollway to your hotel from the rental lot.

thanks for all the info...it will surely help...my kids have been telling me we are going on an adventure and i guess we are...the good thing is we are flying in at 1pm so we have all afternoon to find the hotel...

thanks again!!!
