We are visiting Universal for 1 day during our Disney trip later this summer. Trying to decide if we should do the single park ticket or get the 2 parks in a day ticket. Will we really have the time to hit both parks in 1 day? If I go the 2 parks ticket route, do I need to use transportation to get between the 2 parks?

You can easily walk between the two parks (about 5-10 minutes depending on walking speed) or - my favorite - take the Hogwarts Express :)!

I would always opt for two park tickets - it's just so easy to go back & forth & we treat them as if they're one big park.

If you’re into Harry Potter there’s a train in that section that takes you back and forth between the two parks. PP mentioned it. Hogswarts Express. They made an attraction out of it and one cannot ride it without a park to park pass.

If you’re spending a good amount of time at Universal you can get a lot done at both parks in a day.

If you’re more of a leisurely stroll type person or have kids that are obsessed with a specific area and want to stay in that area half the day, and also if you are ok skipping hogwarts express then can do one park at a time.

Would recommend getting a two-park pass. I don’t think both can be done in one day but you can hit some major things in both parks. Would suggest focusing most of your time either on Harry Potter with a few select other attractions like Velocicoaster or MIB/Mummy, or skip Harry Potter and do the rest of the park. More than likely you’ll be taking the first option. You could upgrade to a hopper during the day but you’ll spend way more time in that line for guest services than you want to and it will cut down on what you can see/do.
