first time trip

well ive been reading and reading and finding some great information. i know that im not going to overplan and do not expect to see everything which is just fine. i want this to be as memorable as can be but also be relaxed as well. i do not plan on making any adr's due to the fact that my children especially my youngest do not do well at sit down meals so that option is out. i am just fine with counter service or in room pizza delivery at night. :) i will be pre-ordering my 2009 issue of the ug by next weekend as well. i :thumbsup2

well we have decided to stay on site but are not sure if we want to go value or moderate resort. since there will be 5 of us i definately want to make sure we have plenty of space to spread out. we have decided to drive down. it's only a 16-18 hour drive so hopefully we wont have to stop for a hotel room there and back. we are also looking into renting an suv so there is plenty of room for us as well as the luggage and a wheelchair. i do have a question regarding making dining reservations. when making one do you already have to have your tickets/package paid for? i am interested in making a reservation for the kids to have a character breakfast or lunch. another question i have is in regards to the dining plan. is the dining plan worth it? i have heard many say it is and i have also heard it can be quite confusing. park hopper, no park hopper?

The "search" tool on here will be your friend! :goodvibes You will be able to find posts on just about any topic! :goodvibes

Feel free to post a specific question, there are so many helpful people on here!

If you have 5 people, and plan to stay in one room, you cannot stay at any Value Resort (except for the suites and the one AS).

Chesh & Sue in the Disability forum (and the others that post there as well) are very informative and helpful!

We personally love the DDP (dining plan)! :thumbsup2 You do not have to worry about any money (with the exception of tips) or cost, at any restaurant you go to (well, alcohol and specialty drinks are excluded)!

We do not buy park hoppers, we choose a park and stay there. That is really personal preference.

Remember that everyone in your party must have the same package (eg all must have the DDP).

The Disboards are addictive :rotfl: the more information you find, the more you want! Enjoy planning!
