First time traveling with baby some questions

so traveling next month with a 9 month old had some questions from people who have done it before. First baby food options amazon, garden grocer, or do youpack it? (can we get amazon to the board walk villas right?) Garden only has stage one and is limited. Disneys order form has nothing in the way of baby stuff.... Diapers? Same question GG is pretty pricey 13.99 for the same thing at my grocery store that is 7.99 for huggies. I don't mind paying up if I have to but just wondering options.

I'm assuming you are flying? Because if you had a car you could just shoot over to Walmart real quick and get what you need for the whole week.

Amazon delivers to the resorts, but you have to be there for the whole 2 hour window I think. So you'd just want to plan on that.

When we went to WDW last our son was 4 months old and completely on milk still. We live in SoCal and went to Disneyland quite frequently when he was eating baby food, but we always just packed the ones we needed for that day and that was it. Another option is to try giving your 9 month old actual food on the smaller side like veggies, mashed potatoes, apple sauce, etc to cut down on the amount of baby food you would need.

If you have room in your suitcases you can try to cram in what you need and avoid it all together.

As far as diapers, we drove so we had a whole box with us.

You could Uber or Lyft cheaply to Wal-Mart, Target or Publix.

They likely wouldn't have an infant car seat.

We went when kiddo was 17 months, but we never did baby food (did baby led weaning) but here's what we did:

* Buy his own seat on the plane if you can swing it. Best money spent on the vacation honestly! Couldn't imagine having the wiggle worm on my lap. 9 months you may be able to get away with it but the extra seat was great for games and toys.

* We bought a cheap, full-sized luggage piece and filled it to the brim with diapers and snacks/food. Liquids are OK in a checked bag. Baby clothes take up no room at all, so we fit a lot in there.

* Used GardenGrocer to get fresh favorites like apples, blueberries, etc.

If you are flying with an airline that offers free checked bags then I would just pack everything I needed. It's so much less stressful to know you are leaving the house with everything you could want and the brands you are used to. Using up the diapers leaves you room for souvenirs on the way home.

It's still good info to know up front that may not be top-of-mind. And they might even be traveling with a car seat for the airplane, who knows.

We dicided to pack all the diapers but are just going to pay up for garden grocer for the food. In our option not worth the risk of a mess in the luggage in case of a break. We always over pack for the adults for Disney and end up wearing 1/2 the stuff. So we are going to packs light a load up everything baby expect food.

I packed things like apple sauce pouches inside our LL Bean cooler inside the checked bag, so that if they did happen to explode, it did within the cooler and not the rest of the bag.

If you're staying DVC there is free laundry (BYODetergent) so packing light is a good option!

I have never actually used Uber, so they only have one car seat in the trunk? Guess that makes sense. We only have one kid so I never thought about what traveling with many would be like (though.. we're tentatively planning an extended family trip which would be 5 kids so maybe a car is a good idea.)

My children are way beyond car seats. Going with friends that have little ones. Studying in advance.

UberFamily cars come with one car seat. Any other version of Uber, including UberX (which most people think of when using Uber) will not have a car seat regularly available.

Ds hadn't had food until 11 months and didn't like food until 18 months, so we didn't ever use baby food. We used cloth diapers only.

And still I would have made sure we had a car for trips!

when we traveled last year with out 6 month old, we packed enough diapers for 2 days, and then just ordered a box on amazon prime a couple days before we arrived so that the box was waiting for us when we got there. Less crap you have to lug around at the airport the better.

amazon prime now also delivers to the resorts, so you can use that once you get there. You'll just need to be there when the driver delivers. Used it the last trip for cokes and other snacks and light meal type stuff. Worked great and wasn't that expensive.
