We had to reschedule our cruise and I was able to book two nights prior to the cruise in a Lake View studio. Decided two nights was enough to check it out even thought we had decided not to buy there.

What location do I need to request to perhaps be in a building with an elevator and to hopefully avoid the loud horn noise?

I think you are going to hear the boat horns wherever you are. I'll be there Saturday night.

I'll post if I hear any horns.

All of the DVC longhouses at PVB have elevators, so you don't have to worry about making that part of your request.

Since you have booked a Lake View studio, you will definitely be assigned the Moorea Longhouse. Since you will be facing Seven Seas Lagoon, there is a good chance that you will hear the horns from the large ferryboats. To minimize the horn sounds, you might want to request a room on the west side of Moorea, furthest from the TTC.

By the way, Moorea has three floors, so you can request a high or low floor if you wish.

Will do, however, for 2 nights before a cruise, a view of the cabanas would be ok, too.
