We have been to DisneyWorld many times but are planning a first trip to DisneyLand in January.

I know that with WDW there are code discounts, etc. to get the lowest rate possible.

What is the best way to get a deal on the hotels in Disneyland?

I have checked mousesavers and there isn't anything there for January.

Thanks

My suggestions:
AAA discount
Disney Club discount
AP holder discount (they have one now that combined with an AMEX) is really good

Thanks for the info.
Can you tell me a little more about the AP/Amex discount?

I'd be interested in any DL discount info too. I have a ressie for spring break (Mar 20 - Ap3, 2003), but it's expensive! I was hoping as we get a little closer to that time period I might be able to find some better deals, but certainly nothing yet! Any suggestions would be most appreciated!

I just reserved for Thanksgiving 2003. I found that the best way to go was calling CRO and asking for the Dinsney Club discount - it was about 20% for Paradise Pier. This made it much cheaper than the package price, even with the Disney Club discount. Note that there are excellant non-Disney hotels literally withn walking distance of the parks. Candy Cane is especially good - it's a very well kept motel, runs about $100 (a little expensive for the area, but cheaper than the Disney hotels). It's the only one on the same side of the street as DCA/DL - so you don't cross any major roads on the nice littler walk to the parks. There is also a free shuttle if your feet are tired - but it's a walk of no more than 2-3 blocks equivalent (closer than the Beach Club is to Epcot, I'd say).

Here's the blurb about the AP/AMEX offer from the Disneyland website for annual passholders:
